O'NEILLYouth Basic Skins UPF 50+ Short Sleeve Rash Guard

Normally our boys ages 8 & 12 use the O'Neill Basic Skin short sleeve Rash guards (normal slim cut) for swim team so we purchase a size smaller (size 6 & 10) so they are closer fit.BUT this time we decided to try the Professional Fit (surfers) and it is MUCH Smaller. The size 10 fits our lean 8 year old snug. Perfect for swim team, but it couldn't be any smaller. It looks SO SMALL, but once stretched on it works good. We would order a 14 for our 12 year old. Excellent design for swimming, but sizing could definitely be adjusted.

I ordered two. One for each of my kids. The size 12 (blue) was too small for my 8 year old. He is an average sized kid, not big at all. It was not only small, but short in length at the waist, it hit above his belly button. The size 10 in another color I ordered was larger than the size 12. There’s no way either of those would fit my 12 year old, who is small for his age. I understand these are supposed to be skin tight, but it’s so small that it’s like a crop top, higher than the belly button. Plus these arrived later than promised so we didn’t have them for our vacation.

I read the reviews that it ran small so I ordered a size up. I did and it was still pretty snug. I don’t think he got to wear it more than a handful of times and it’s already too small. It was a nice quality and beautiful color of green. I recommend it but with the caveat that you order two sizes up. If it were not so small, it would’ve got a higher score from me. He is 59” and 55 lbs

I’m not sure if I like these or not.Pros:Protects against harmful rays.Great colorCons:A little scratchy (will rub my son a little raw on his nipples (I know tmi)). Gets uncomfortable after a couple hours.Runs very small. It ran so small that I had to order a size 12 for my 8 year old. I initially ordered him a 10 and it was so snug it’d ride up his belly like a crop top. My son is SKINNY. He’s 53 inches tall and 55 pounds. He’s a noodle and we still had a sizing issue. Even the 12 is fitted but in a good way so I’m not sure how their sizing chart works.My kids ask to take them off after a while because they aren’t super comfortable and rub them a little raw. When I alternate the shirt and bare skin it seems to be ok for them. Again all in all I’m not sure if I like these or not. Kind of expensive for a product that’s ok.

I read that this fits small... My son is 7-8 size .... it fits perfect.... you know why.... because it's supposed to fit skin tight so there is no drag when your in the water.... order according to your normal size... I bought an adult according to their chart and again fits perfectly skin tight....

These run way small- my son is skinny and could barely get it on

6 does not fit a 50lb boy. Very short.

My daughter loves this brand of rash guard. She also loves the color. But, for some reason, the neck on this one is slightly tighter than others. The product arrived on time and packaged well. Thank you!

I had bought these exact vests 2 years ago and they were perfect. Went up a size and the manufacture must be different and they are smaller than the smaller ones I bought 2 years earlier. Quality is good

Bought size 16 and it would be lucky to be a size 12. Very short in the body.
