I can't believe $200 bt headphones can sound this good and I have headphones that cost 4 times more
My daily drivers are Fostex th-x00 with Denon da 300usb dac / amp . I also have Denon D7100 , Beyerdynamics dt 770 pro , Fostex t50rp and had been using Aiwa Arc 1 bluetooth for years but it was time to upgrade . I have tried AKG k371bt and returned them because not only they are tuned flat and sound boring but have multiple problems , then bought Skullcandy crushers evo refurb for $100 to see if I like their sound and they were much better and exciting then AKG once you properly set them up and use max 5% bass boost . These Yamahas sound best of them all , much bigger sound , very deep bass and sparkly trebles with great mids . The only thing that many reviewers complain about is comfort . I use headphones for 5 hours a day and after hour pads are getting little uncomfortable and I had to adjust them a bit . Also bass can be little out of control sometimes but this is where new velour pads I got from AliExpress for $10 came in and change all negatives . I can wear them for hours now and bass is much better controlled . Now I have perfect bt headphones with amazing sound and comfort .I also decided to keep Skullcandys crushers evo as well as a backup because they sound really good especially for money I spent . I was thinking about Sennheiser momentum 4 ( too many problems , terrible customer service that refuse to honor their warranty so I skip it ) and Technics A800 ( from what I read similar sound to yamaha and ability to equalize them is big plus but they cost 30% more then yamaha ) but after pad replacement these are keepers and I hope they will last for few years .

Amazingly clear and lovely for music genres like Chillwave especially the bass
My Sony XM4s failed with a sharp noise on the right ear and there is an audible hiss even after cleaning the internal microphone which make them useless for daily use. I needed a replacement, but I couldn't trust Sony again immediately and so I went searching. I saw these at an attractive price on Woot but it was white. Fortunately, the black version was available for a little more and I jumped on it.It was delivered in two days. The packaging is attractive, and the controls are intuitive enough. Long press the power button to pair to a different device. Looking at the description for the app, I didn't feel the need to install it. The noise cancelling is very mediocre, and the bass takes a dive when it is enabled and so I normally disable it. It is the opposite on XM4s. I feel the transparency mode is better though. Now onto the most important and subjective part, in my opinion the Yamaha sounds utterly amazing and clear when playing Synthwave/Chillwave/Future Funk. I really enjoyed listening to Voyage's new album on these. I am really glad that I found these for a good price. I did add extra warranty to be on the safe side.If Yamaha manages to improve noise cancelling, they can seriously compete against Sony. For a discounted price, I greatly recommend these for people who like the bass in their music.

Great sound
I personally have very eclectic music taste. I find these handle very well. They keep the highs from being piercing and the bass is heavy where it should and it compliments the song without overpowering when it should. I love that the bass comes through in low volume. I love the Sony XM3 but I have grown to using these full time. Noise cancellation for me is good not as substantial as the Sony but I don’t have a lot of noise to block out. The fit is comfortable. I don’t experience fatigue from them even though they are heavier than the Sony. The cups are nice and soft. Battery life is superb. A great buy for sound quality and comfort especially if all the fancy gadgetry isn’t important.

Weak hinge
Great sounding headphone with AutoEQ.Lots of deep rich bass. Needs EQ for best result. Excellent for movies. BUT....thee hinge will crack and break. Mine did in less than 2 months. Waiting to see if Yamaha will provide me the support I need. Won't recommend at the moment.Update:. Amazon helped me contact Yamaha and they sent a replacement. No need to return the original. I am happy and these sound just as good and seem to have better battery life. Great customer service by Yamaha.

Not comfortable for me at all...
I had high hopes for going with Yamaha but these are simply uncomfortable for me. Likely my head is too wide and I can't handle the ear sweat from the leather ear pieces. I believe the temperature/sweat issue can be managed adding some simple moleskin to the pads. Might improve comfort. But out of the box these are very painful for me after just an hour or so wearing them. They are not too heavy for me at all it's just the pinching making my ears sore. They are actually comfy initially...until they aren't which is a common thing for me with headphones so not surprised by still disappointed.Bought them not for music for for movie/tv audio and when the audio stream is ATMOS or one of the more lossy variations the sound is fantastic. My sources are a MS Surface Book 3 which supports ATMOS and a Hisense H9G 55" TV. Needed these mostly for playing movies loud enough to get the more 3d sound sense we have these days. They do a good job letting the software create that illusion. Bass is not too boomy and can be managed on some systems to not overpower vocal/dialog. They are a good option for what I wanted....until they start to hurt my ears. The levels of ANC are just right, not too much or too little...I don't think they block as much noise as the Sony 1004's but they are darn close. I actually prefer just a bit of noise leak if something needs attention.Bluetooth range is great, much more than 30ft in my use. I can wander outside while listening to something.I have not tried them on phone calls yet as I just haven't worn them more that about 20hrs in the 40-days I have owned them.Battery live is actually very good...I have forgotten to turn them off after removing them but got a good 25-30hrs total.Would have returned but health issues got in the way and I couldn't ship them back in time. Hoping the moleskin option will save this purchase.

Great price
I have only good things to say, well built and very comfortable. These jam I’m so glad I ordered the Yamaha’s. They are better put together than the yammy motor that was in my XC-90 🤣

Buy if you prefer pure sound rather than vocal
The soundstage is spacious but it also drowned the vocal away.
