It also comes with the Resist Mist Composite Deck Treatment that helps seal and protect surfaces from ugly stains and keeping them from returning years. Keep your deck cleaner longer or reverse years of neglect with Resist Mist. Resist Mist is the only RECOMMENDED deck cleaning system by major composite deck manufacturers. SUPER EASY TO APPLY. ALL YOU NEED IS A GARDEN PUMP SPRAYER AND A SOFT BRISTLED BRUSH. The cleaner was specifically designed to TARGET BLACK SPOT, GREASE AND GREEN STAINS on composite decks, PVC Fences, Concrete and even PVC Siding. Spray on the cleaner, scrub and rinse. If your deck has years of neglect additional cleaner and scrubbing may be needed. The Resist Mist TREATMENT HELPS KEEP THE DECK FREE OF UNSIGHTLY STAINS FOR YEARS using Micro Encapsulation Technology. This unique technology creates a barrier that will not allow stains to develop. Potential stains sit on the surface until the next rain and are washed away. Resist Mist is not a paint or a traditional sealer. There is no stripping, priming, taping, crack, peeling or blistering EVER! The treatment contains Micro Encapsulation Technology and so it works on a MICROSCOPIC LEVEL unlike stains, sealers or paints. Clean and reapply every few years for decades of clean composite deck. Resist mist also works on PVC FENCING, CONCRETE, PAVERS, WOOD FENCING, PATIO FURNITURE AND MORE. Coverage will vary based on the surface type. For example, the Resist Mist half gallon kit will cover up to 250 SF of concrete, 375 SF of Composite Decking and up to 600 SF of PVC Fencing. Read instructions carefully to ensure proper application rates. RESIST MIST complete cleaning system WILL CLEAN AND HELP PROTECT YOUR DECKING AND MOST OUTDOOR SURFACES FOR YEARS.

Disappointed
I mixed the quart of Renu with 4 quarts of water in my sprayer. I wetted the stairs of my composite deck, and then scrubbed with a brush. It barely put a dent in the dirt and areas of mildew. Sprayed more. Scrubbed more. After LOTS of elbow grease, I cleaned about 2 square feet. Awesome, just 300 more to go... should be done by the time I'm ready to retire. Oh, wait, the whole gallon is gone after just getting a portion the stairs done. $30 down the drain!! I ended up using bleach mixed with water and my power washer. They say not to use either on a composite deck, but it worked great. Just don't get too close with the wand and it's not a worry - like 8-10" is as close as you can go before you start chewing through the material.OK, with the deck clean, no thanks to Renu, I mixed up the mist in the 4:1 ratio as indicated on the label. The Amazon description claims that "this kit includes enough cleaner and enough treatment for up to 300SF of composite decks." HA! There is absolutely NO WAY this kit can cover even close to that. We're talking about just over a gallon of liquid, which the instructions say to apply "generously." I was able to mist the stairs and stair railings with my sprayer, and then cover the outside edge of my deck (one plank width). In other words, it covered about 10% of it. (It's less that 300SF)Edit: Shutter Renew reached out to me to ask how they could make things right. They were sincere, and I am impressed by their level of customer service. I asked for a refund (I actually thought I was asking Amazon, but it turned out that Amazon just sends your request to the seller as an e-mail) and they obliged. My advice: visit their website and review all of the supplemental information (videos, alternate mixing ratios, etc.) before you buy. Perhaps if I had done that I'd have gotten a better result.

Cleans Well with Lots of Scrubbing; Jury Still Out on Protective Sealant
I used this Resist-Mist to clean and seal my ten-year-old Timbertech composite deck floor. Even though I have cleaned and scrubbed the deck every spring since I put it in, I still had to scrub the boards pretty hard to get the mildew up. So I did not find it “easily” lifts black spots and stains. The real test will be how the deck looks next spring after cleaning and sealing this year. I will repost then to comment on how well the sealant works. To be continued.

Not pleased
Wasn't pleased with results - didn't see much difference in my deck!

Worked great.
Worked as advertised! My biggest problem is algae on my composite deck, it removed it as I followed the directions. I did scrub it with a deck brush, then power washed it off.

Not impressed
Bought this to clean residue off of pvc railing did it 5 times did little to nothing to wash off, this product is only good for stains on composite decking not seasonal build up.

The size, it's too small for an average size deck
It is too pricey.
