Ayliss Women Bowknot Straw Hat Summer Fedoras Boater Sun Hat

I have a big head, so I was pleased that it fit me just fine. I got it for making a Mary Poppins costume. It arrived very crushed and wrinkled, so I had to spritz it with water and block it. Didn't get rid of all the creases, but enough for my purpose. I thought the crown was too tall for the Mary Poppins look, and I was able to kind of fold it down and make it appear shorter and still be able to wear it.

This hat isn’t exactly amazing quality, but for less than $10, it totally deserves 5 stars. It’s so cute and looks just like its pics. First, it arrived within two days, even though it didn’t have prime shipping, and most importantly it arrived in a box with those inflatible plastic bags that keep fragile things safe. The hat was in perfect shape and not wrinkled, as the description promised, so we can assume the seller fixed the smooshed in shipping issue. The brim is too short to offer much sun protection in my opinion, but I didn’t expect a skimmer to be able to block the sun, so for me, not a problem. The hat fits well, but a bit loose on my smallish head. I don’t expect it to slip out of place or fall off, but a windy day could be difficult. The ribbon seems very secure to me, I’d be surprised if it came off.

Loved this hat! Used it for my Sophie cosplay, and it fit well on my head with a wig on. The originally came with a black fabric, but i replaced it with red, for my costume. It was easy to take off considering it was only hot glued on (don't know whether or not its a con or pro for others, but thought it was worth mentioning, in my case it was a pro)Of course I won't need to buy it again, but definitely do if you're looking for a hat fit for a Sophie cosplay or if you just want a nice hat.

I needed a hat for a Mary Poppins event and didn't want to spend a lot of money. This had came relatively fast, considering that it was shipped from China. It was folded up, yes, but the creases smoothed out after I shaped it. I added flowers to it and it worked great.I was going to give it to the thrift store, but never got around to is. Which was fortunate, because my next costume - I HATE costumes! - was as a little old lady from "Arsenic and Old Lace," so I plopped it onto my white hair and it worked great, again.I still have it - ya never know.I"m sorry some didn't smooth out. MIne did. And the price was certainly right.

Excellent hat, would buy again (and probably will!). I bought this hat to use it in a costume with the intention of altering and embellishing it. It came shipped in a box, and the hat was in perfect shape, not deformed at all from shipping or storage. I was able to easily remove the ribbon to attach my own ribbon and flowers. On its own the hat is somewhat floppy, but this is easily fixed if you're willing to invest a little time with DIY to stiffen it up. After some advice, I made a solution with one packet of plain unflavored gelatin and a half a cup of boiling water. Using a paintbrush, I brushed it over the whole hat and pinned the brim down to a foam tile so it would dry perfectly flat. The gelatin dries clear, and the top, sides, and brim are perfectly stiff.

The hat was for a 1910s suffragette costume. It arrived crushed completely flat and wonky in an envelope, and despite my best efforts to flatten and reshape the wavy, crushed brim as a result of the way it is shipped, nothing worked. Fortunately, I put decorative flowers on it and it didn't look TOO terrible for my costume despite the giant wave in the brim. Would not order again, though.

Could you believe the hat arrived as folded FLAT into the size of your hand? It comes out as disfigured and the trim was wobbly shaped. So it looks nothing like the hat that you see nor is it even wearable/fixable. I tried reforming the shape of the hat so it looks better, but to no avail. Horrible and unbelievable packaging. What a waste of money!

I bought this to complete my Suffragette outfit for a workshop skit. Fit great and arrived in perfect shape. I've worn it for 3 other events since.
