Lord save me!
I don't think I have ever rolled my eyes as much in my life!!!Spoilers aheadThe book was brutal the H was a dipsh.. who ran off after finding out his Dad who raised him with all the love a boy could ask for was not his biological father so off he goes leaving The "love of his life" and siblings, grandparents and all family with the intent never to return. Ahhhhhh maybe take a day a week a month even oh and I don't know ask a bloody question before leaving your whole family behind. The h was a complete idiot I mean doormat is a huge understatement she bought his Moms house just in case he came back.....She did however get engaged to his best friend for two years but never was intimate with him and course the H was never with another woman in the five years apart. Also the amount of anguish knee dropping was eye rolling annoying. All in all I think the book was supposed to be very emotional and full of angst but for me it was just a lot of " oh my God these people are dopes”

All the stars to this one!!!
Talk about heartbreak. I've was a crying mess while reading this and this time i can't even resent Natasha Madison for that, because it was a real spiritual experience reading this book .Ethan and Emily shared a love so powerful that even being a part for 5 years could dim the power of that love. I wish i had more words to give you just to explain what this book did to me but it's impossible to do so without giving away to much. All i can give you is this; be prepared to have your heart ripped to pieces only to be slowly put together again. And now i can go on record and say Natasha Madison is officially my favorite author out there...Yes I said it and I’m not taking it back!!!!***Review copy requested and reviewed on behalf of OMGReads Blog***

Great Story
Such an emotional roller coaster.I really liked Ethan and Emily. We met Ethan in the first book, Southern Chance. He was a very happy, fun loving eight year old. He’s turning twenty one when this book starts. He is no longer that young, innocent boy. He’s now a young man, with his future ahead of him. He has a great family, and a sweet, loving girlfriend/new fiancée. Emily. Until one encounter with a stranger turns his world upside down. After walking away from everyone he loved and trusted, after five years, he finally returns home a different man. Holding onto a whole range of emotions. Anger, hate, betrayal, shame and somewhere, deep down love. But things are not the same as they were when he left. Life has moved on. And so has Emily. When Ethan left, he broke her. Tore her heart out and smashed it. She’s doing the best she can to move forward. She has a great career, her own house, and a new fiancé. What she does not need is Ethan coming back and messing with her head and heart again.Ethan made a snap decision to run when he found out about his father. He said horrible things, and left his family. He had tunnel vision. Only saw one side of the story. Having no idea how his leaving would affect the people in his life. He has a lot of fences to mend, a lot of feelings to smooth over. A lot of relationships to try to repair. This was such an emotional read. All of the feels. Grab some tissues.I loved Ethan and Emily. They had a lot of issues to work through. But they were honest and open with each other. Once he was back, they talked, a lot. There are tons of things to work out but they do finally get to that happy ever after. It’s told in dual points of view. And despite what it looks like, there is no cheating between Ethan and Emily.I had thought this was the last book in the series, but the author hints that might not be the case. I would like more from this series.

Ethan + Emily are true love goals for this life and into the next one!
Ethan + Emily are true love goals for this life and into the next one! When Ethan has a truth bomb dropped on his head the day he turns 21 he abandons his family and his fiance, but not before hurling some very hateful, hurtful words at them. How can he make Emily his wife, and make children with her if he's not sure who he is inside? It might look like Emily has been frozen in time waiting for home, but that is far from the truth, at least to her. She's teaching high school, when all she was teaching kindergarten. She is engaged, she has moved on, or at least she keeps telling herself that. But when Ethan shows up in the diner five years later, Emily realizes her heart may never heal.As Ethan and Emily use the short time in front of them to communicate, both with each other, and the parents Ethan damaged irreparably life continues to fall apart around them. Can they find there way back to each other, or are they meant to be sadly single for the rest of their lives?Natasha Madison has blown me away with each of her Southern stories, giving the South a life filled with humor and history, and the families their place in this little town. Ethan and Emily's sexiness was Over The Top, and gave me goosebumps each and every time they came together! I can't wait to see what she has in store for us next!

Emotional Story
I devoured this book, read it in one sitting. It took me on an emotional journey that ripped my heart out, however by the end, my heart was whole again. On his 21st birthday, Ethan’s world is turned upside down. Distraught and angry, he spews hurtful words at his family and leaves his home, leaving hurt and devastation behind him. For 5 long years, he struggles to find himself, but another life-altering event makes him long for his family and fiancée he left behind. Returning home, Ethan realizes he has a lot of work to do to repair these damaged relationships. Madison does a great job of bringing all the emotion, devastation, and hurt these characters feel to the pages of this book, it is palpable. I got so invested as Ethan worked to make amends with everyone, especially with his father, Jacob, and Emily, his former fiancée. This book brought tears to my eyes and that doesn’t happen often. Such an engaging, well written book. Five exceptional ⭐️.

A beautiful love story for the ages
If you, like me, like love stories that rip your heart out, stamp on it a little, rub salt in the wounds, before putting it back together, Southern Sunrise is the one for you. With every book in this series, they have gotten better and better, the emotional rollercoaster ride, longer and sweeter and the tears falling more and more, harder and harder, but the is also smile bigger and bigger and your heart feels more and more full. Southern Sunrise is the culmination of all of that.Falling straight back in to where Southern Storm left off, Ethan has just been given some earth shattering news on his 21st birthday, that made him question his whole existence. The pain too unbearable, he leaves his family and friends behind, running from the only home he has known. He also leaves behind a devastated Emily, the woman he claimed to love, the woman he was going to ask to marry him.Years later a series of heartbreaking events bring Ethan back to his home town, but he’s a different man now, he’s lived a painful experience and he’s seen things that have changed him. He’s not the only one who has changed though, life didn’t stand still whilst Ethan was away, his family aren’t all thrilled to see him after the way he left and the hurt he caused, his friend has gotten himself engaged, and Emily is the one he’s engaged to. Life moved on, and Ethan now has some agonising conversations to have to earn forgiveness and understanding for his choices. The most painful of which is with Emily, whom he never fell out of love with and wants a second chance with.Natasha has weaved a story of beautiful torture, where the pain hurts so good it’s cleansing. Ethan and Emily have been given an epic love story, where each and every page evokes a new feeling. I can’t recommend enough, reading this book, 5 stars really doesn’t do it justice, but that’s all I can give on here.

A beautifully written. story that captivated me from the very first page.
Southern Sunrise was a beautifully written story. That poignantly tells the tale of how people's choices and decisions have a ripple effect on those closest to them, and I was utterly captivated from the first page until the last. Furthermore, I was really pulling for Ethan and Emily to find their way back to each other and repair the love they once shared. But also for Ethan to repair his relationships with his family, especially dad Jacob, and I have to say, I found those particular interactions extremely well written and genuinely heart wrenching to read.Would definitely recommend.
