I believe this to be authentic, based on what I've read about B. Frereana
This frankincense seems more flexible and even "rubbery " compared to the other varieties of frankincense resins I've bought. That makes me believe this is genuine mahdi/maydi resin. Apparently comparatively little reaches the west from the region where this is grown, as the local populations like this resin for chewing: It's supposed to freshen the breath and heal minor mouth injuries. I am not going to test that theory, but I did go ahead and burn some in a mesh-screen/charcoal free resin burner (also sold by NWI trading company) just to see : It has a pleasant fragrance that seems to be lighter and more "medicinal" or herbaceous than the kinds of frankincense usually burned for their fragrance. I recommend this product , and their "Adjustable Incense Burner - Charcoal Free" (I will NEVER go back to charcoal discs ; I'll use my electric burner for softer resins and blends, and the mesh screen tea light burner for the harder resins such as dragons blood. NO MORE CHARCOAL !!! )

This was the only disappointment. The taste is out of this world and ...
The product is outstanding but the 2 ounce size was mainly crumbs and little pebbles. No bigger pieces. This was the only disappointment. The taste is out of this world and extremely addicting. If you can find a big enough piece you can chew it but you can only eat the crumbs. If you are feeling sick or tired, this will pick you up and have you feeling better in minutes. Great product, MMMM good!

Specifically -- this review is for 'NWI Trading Company Frankincense Resin - Maydi - Boswellia frereanna - Coptic Frankincense'I think this is the best of all I have tried so far. It is a wee bit pricey: you Can buy a pound of Frankincense for the same price -- but it is absolutely Not the same! I'm reordering this rt now. I'd rather have an ounce of of awesome than a pound of blah/blech. NWI Trading Company is doing it right.

Maydi is the best type of frankinsence, I have tried dozens of sources, this is far away the best quality,no bitter smells, you'll see.
