Good Police Procedural Story But Don’t Expect Fast Paced Suspense
Deadly Web (Glenmore Park Series Book 2) written by Mike Omer is a police procedural story that follows the investigation of two murders. The first murder involves a seemingly nice guy who harbors a “dark side” posting explicit photos and harassing women with social media messages. The second murder victim was a depressed young woman who played computer games. Detectives Hannah Shor and Bernard Gladwin led the investigation into murder 1, while Detectives Mitchell Lonnie and Jacob Cooper investigated murder 2.The plot is focused on the two investigations and it sort of plods along introducing potential suspects, witnesses, etc. There is not much excitement or suspense when checking facts and alibis, and the account moves at sort of a matter of fact pace. There is no real action, shootouts or car chases. Just following leads and interviewing people; just routine, almost boring, cop work! Even when the murders are revealed it is almost of anticlimactic with both murders confessing while under interrogation. The four detectives are likable, working cops. There is nothing overly positive or negative about any of the four. They are simply going about doing their jobs to catch murders. The story is well written but lacks intrigue or suspense. There is no rooting for a hero or despising a villain. There is just following the leadsIf you like police procedural stories you will like Deadly Web. Just don’t expect high paced suspense.

Good read
Gus book was written a but different than the other books oc this author, so it's not your normal mystery story. Although it it's a good book, I do prefer the narrative that be Gus in Zoe's trilogy.

Great police procedural
This one showcases the grind of police work and how partnerships help solve crimes. Interesting cases with deeper character development.

A peek at the various reasons for murder
I enjoyed this book because it shows different killings for each one. I really couldn't imagine having to sift through the process of uncovering a killer. The reasons for them are so different yet the results are the same. It's amazing how much you really don't know a person just by being their friends. We all have a public personality that the world sees yet we all carry our own baggage that we don't share. It's amazing how much our social media platforms can reveal about us that the police, future employers, colleges, etc can tell about what is posted. This idea scares the hell out of me. This book really makes you think about what you post can be inferred and how you can be stalked it. I'd recommend this book to everyone. Don't post pictures of yourself underage drinking, doing drugs or anything else that can instantly ruin your life or attract the wrong attention. Posting almost naked selfies, why?

2 murders - 2 teams
Deadly Web seems to have 4 main characters - the police of Glenmore ParkThere are 2 murders in this one - two detectives are working on one - and two are working on the otherOne murder: Frank is murdered in his apartment - as his friend is leaving - he hears Frank scream - and someone runs past him on the stairs2nd murder: a young woman is strangled in her apartment. A woman who is depressed and rarely leaves the house. She does have a boyfriend though - and he has a past of being a burglar. But from burglar to murderer seems a big jump

Good book!
This isn’t a sensational book. To me, it’s not a thriller. However, it is a very good criminal drama with likable characters. Two murders being investigated by two different pairs of police detectives was unexpected and made it even better.

Slow
I was hoping that it had more fun with the characters.Instead, they were just self centered and lacked sensitivity.

Riveting
Another hit by author Mike Omer. I wasn't as happy with his characters in this book, as I've been with every other one I've read, but they were developed well, I just couldn't "connect" with any of them. Still an enjoyable read.

I enjoyed reading the book!
I enjoyed reading the book! I can't agree more with the author when he describes the manager in the home "her appearance gave her an air of aloof superiority which Mitchell frequently saw in low level managers and bad teachers"I find the main character Hannah a little bit less interesting than Zoe Bentley (from the previous book in the series and her own series). Michel and Jacob make me laugh and are definitely a delightful pair of characters.Going to the next book in the series.

Not as good as his others…but interesting to see his writing develop over the years.Just 3 stars when I’d normally enjoy Omer’s books far more

Excellent Book
This was such an enjoyable read. This is my second Mike Omer book, and I have thoroughly enjoyed both of them. The characters are quite diverse, and I really like the humour the Author has added in. After sitting on a stakeout for many hours, Hannah thought her and her partner Bernard had finally caught Devin Derkins for drug dealing, and hopefully then be able to track down his supplier. Unfortunately for them Devin is sick, and the man they catch is Mikey who is unlucky enough to be filling in for Devin. They no sooner drop Mikey into the lock up, when they are called out to investigate the murder of Frank Gulliepe. Frank was unlucky enough to be stabbed in the heart, and then multiple times after that by someone that definitely wanted him dead. It didn’t take them long to find out that Frank was at a local Bar, and purchased Ecstasy from Chad Grimes, a known drug dealer. Now they just need to find him. Franks parents are dead, but they need to advise his sister of his death, and she is close by in the Wexler Care Centre. Melinda is Autistic, and she advises Hannah and Bernard that she has noticed a blue ford fiesta for the last two weeks, that doesn’t belong in the centre’s car park. This just adds to the many leads that are mounting up. Upon further investigation into Franks Twitter and Facebook accounts, they learn that he was harassing a number of women on line, with very abusive messages. Finally they catch up with Chad Grimes, and he decides it’s a good idea to start shooting at them. However when they do arrest him, he is adamant that he’s not Franks killer. A great story that had me hooked from the first page. If you like Murder Mystery’s, then this is a must read.

Good but not as good as books 1 & 3 in the series
Not nearly as good as books 1 and 3, a bit disorganized but still worth a read

Decent read
It's a decent read, however, due to reading his earlier books this book wasn't as on the edge of my seat as the others. Felt it was a little boring but still readable
