Powerful and sturdy!
This is a very powerful laptop with a high quality and stutdy casing. It worths the money if you need it for a heavy-duty type of jobs or computing works. Highly recommend it.

Not great after a year.
After a year once the warrenty was gone. The screen pad will randomly stop working quite often with no fix. (Restarting he computer doesn't fix it or restarting the drivers). The USB port also does not work and with one USB port you are screwed. My option for a mouse is either using Bluetooth or getting a type c to USB converter. I also went to a computer repair shop but they can't fix it because from their research the screenpad issue is a software problem and the computer doesn't have repair parts since it's new. Also the microphone seems to be very quiet, so your better off using some headphones with a microphone.

ScreenPad is a Gimmick
I needed a new laptop because the battery on my Dell laptop (an XPS 15 9575) had swollen up, pushing up the trackpad and deforming the keyboard. This was the second time this had happened. The first time was covered under warranty, the second time wasn't. I sent the Dell off for repair. But, I need a reliable laptop, so I chose the ASUS.I bought the ASUS in part because of the ScreenPad. It certainly brings a coolness factor to the laptop. But, I generally don't use it for much other than as a trackpad. I've used the calculator app a few times, and used it as a second screen a few times. But, overall, I don't find myself needing it a lot.(I got the version with the ScreenPad that is a trackpad replacement, not the wider "Plus" version. I was tempted by the wider version, but it is more expensive and the laptop lacks the SD card slot, which I needed. The one I got is lighter, has better battery life, and is thinner. Both have very high quality displays.)One annoyance is the ScreenPad counts as a second display, so when I connect an external display (e.g., for giving a PowerPoint presentation), I have three displays, not two. This can sometimes cause problems, such as when the mouse slides off of one screen onto another and I have difficulty finding the mouse. This most often occurs when I'm trying to click on the scrollbar or close box on a window that fills the screen. Also, sometimes the mouse gets trapped in one of the screens. Using the ScreenPad as a trackpad seems to snap it back to the main screen. But, I wish there were better tools for controlling how the three displays interact and for confining the mouse to one of the screens. (For example, how about requiring a slightly greater amount of effort for the mouse to slide to a different screen, so that you feel like you're bumping up against the edge. Also, I'd like to have the external display mirror the main laptop display except when I'm running a PowerPoint presentation. I tried all permutations of display specifications, and none quite does what I need.)Another issue was buying a spare A/C adapter to keep in my travel bag. I could not find the A/C adapter for this laptop on the ASUS website, or even the model number. (I did find the model number on the adapter itself and ASUS does not seem to sell it on their website.) I had to go with a third party adapter that matched the model number, as nobody seems to sell the OEM adapter, not even ASUS.But, other than these minor issues, it is a great laptop. I was able to connect it to the same dock and accessories I used with the Dell, without problems. These include a bluetooth mouse and keyboard, and a dock (with external monitor).ASUS is providing a three-month extension to the warranty to encourage people to write reviews. This did not influence the substance of my review.

Only one USB port, stopped working within a year
I did a lot of research on this lap top before purchasing, unfortunately I forgot to take into consideration that it only had one USB port. A little annoying, but whatever. More unfortunately, after less than a year of light use, the USB port stopped working. If there had been multiple ports, this would have been a minor annoyance. As this is the only one, it has caused be a great deal of headache. I am having to send it back to see if they can fix it, but unsure if that will do anything. I will update when/if it is fixed. I would not recommend (1) because it only has 1 USB port and (2) because that port broke within a year of use. Also, I use the port for a wireless mouse, so it's not like I am constantly removing anything from it. It literally just stays in the port and decided to stop working one day.
