The basket I got was well put together, and the rattan had minimal rough bits (I suggest a good wash/scrub and let it dry overnight before dusting with flour). The cloth option is good if you don't want a spiral pattern on your loaf. The brush and fork aren't much to speak of and will probably end up in the trash.I gave this as a gift, and was delighted to get an amazing loaf of bread as a thankyou :)

I make a couple of sourdough bread loaves each week. This proofing set works perfectly, and the basket liner is really easy to wash out.

Perfect starter set for sourdough lovers

I really love this proofing basket. It's the perfect size for a medium loaf of bread. I used for a sourdough recipe on a 2nd proof and was astounded at the effectiveness of the basket. The weave of the basket certainly does it's job when allowing the dough to breath and keeps the warmth in to further along the rising process. I wouldn't say the item is 'giftable' in the packaging alone, however if in the Amazon shipping box then yes. I would make mention, there is a bit of wood dust in the basket so cleaning it out first is a must.

I made Artisan Sourdough bread and it worked beautifully. It was fun to get that "authentic" Artisan design on the bread. Be sure to put more flour than you think you need, as my recipe instructed, so that the bread does not stick as you turn it out into the oven.

Excellent banneton for thé price. Sturdy construction and easy to clean with proper use. Came with a cloth liner that has been easy to clean and useful. Better construction than those I’ve purchased in store. Completely satisfied with my purchase. Would purchase again.

I'm new to this, and I've been trying to make a good loaf of bread for weeks. This banneton gave me a perfect sour dough. I would have taken a picture, but my kids ate it too fast. I didn't use the cloth and I had no problem with sticking (I did heavily flour though). If you're trying to perfect your bread, this is a good buy.
