A bit thinner than a standard license plate (I think), but I was placing it inside a plate holder to attach it to the front of my car. It looks great and I can proudly display my dolphins long after retirement.

Silver VS Gold
This is a hard to find item. I served on subs and live near a sub training base. I went into the NEX there and they only had this item in gold( gold is for officers) I ended up buying the gold item and painting it silver ( silver is for enlisted personnel) The clerk there said that they had never seen them in silver. Silver is the more popular item since there are more enlisted personnel than officers. I was glad to see this item in silver !

Used for front license plate on my Ford Ranger truck. Had a holder for the plate but was not necessary due to design of plate holder.

Sharp and durable
Have this on my boat trailer since in WI my trailer is small enough to not need a plate. Looks sharp and is holding up well to the use a boat trailer gets going in and out of the water and facing all kinds of boat launches / ramps.
