Timmy's Story: A Story About Autism and Friendship!

This is an incredible story written by a young man who has autism. Tim details his experiences as a child, and how autism acceptance and inclusive acts lead to meaningful friendships. The message of inclusion is beautiful, and this story will teach children to seek connections instead of focusing on differences. In addition, Tim did an awesome job illustrating his story. This is an amazing book!

This book is amazing ! It’s about a boy Timmy who has Autism. The book takes you through the times before his diagnosis and how he was feeling, touches on the reasons behind his behaviors that may be misunderstood, and even mentions some of the things that have helped him get through some difficult times. It also touches on inclusion and how good it made him feel to be part of a new and accepting group. The best part is the book is written and illustrated specifically with kids in mind.. and does a great job teaching children about understanding and acceptance. Highly recommended!

This book provides the perfect conversation starter for children parents, and educators. It includes so much valuable information in a bright and engaging format. I appreciate that the author, Timothy Rohrer, has shared the first-hand perspective of Timmy as well as the impact that his friends, his mother and his education team made in his life! This is a must-read for children and adults alike!

Wonderful story about autism and friendship. Beautifully told by a young adult with autism. The message that “we can all be friends, despite our differences” is told in a simple way that young children can understand. I cannot wait to share this with my first graders! Heartwarming illustrations too.

This book is the perfect addition to my SEL library. It explains how it feels to not fit in and what everyone can do to help. The real-life experiences of the author come through loud and clear in a way that makes it easy for children to understand. Thank you for sharing your story.

This is a great book to read with all children. It gives a clear description of what autism looks like to children and how the child with autism feels. My class loved it!

Tim has been out there telling his story for a while now. So wonderful to have a way to share it with a much wider audience. From interviews to talks, animations to books, and everything in-between Tim's unique and very personal approach to this topic is right from the heart! Bravo
