Trangia Aluminium Mess Tin

This is the second Trangia mess tin I own. The first is about 12 years old now and still going strong, but lid has got loose. New one is great, tight fitting lid and same quality as original. The lightweight hardened aluminium may seem at first glance to be flimsy, but, certainly in my case, this has not been my experience. My original has travelled over 75% of the world with me in a bergen or thrown in a transit container, and although dented here and there has stood the test of time. The new one is identical in both dimensions and thickness of material. As a rice cooker it has no equal.

Really poor quality not what I expected from triangia. 10 min to open lid and nearly sliced fingers off on sharp edges doing this. the description said large i suppose its large if you are one of the borrowers. Really disappointed pound shop quality

Nice little mess tin.Big enough to boil water for drinks.Fry sliced up bacon and mushrooms.Its lightweight and compact with lid.Ideal if your lightweight backpacking.Some people said they had an issue getting the lid off but I found if you gently squeeze the long sides the lid slips off easily.Easy to clean, just put some water in to for a few minutes and stuck on food comes off easily.

ordered and paid for a large received a small you may be able to boil two eggs in this but not much more.pretty much useless for my needs im afraid. prob use it as a storage tin instead of the hassle of returning it.

The edges are razor sharp and it’s tiny

a bit small, I was going to use it on exercise but I have decided just to use it for climbing as the lid gets really hot and you can't get stuff out of it without burning your fingers. I have put a little wooden handle on it but that stops it going into webbing...

I usually go for the issue type mess tins because of the 2 stacking together, fact is I only really use one. I fancied a change and went for this one. And although a bit smaller it is very nice and fits my pouches far better. It comes with a lid which fits snug. Excellent piece of kit.

Excellent little light weight tins ideal for long distance treks or camping.
