Effective but noisy
As a much more budget friendly option than the cheapest options in local retailers, this was a great buy.The build in thermostat is great for not over chilling the room (and also saving power), however the compressor is quite noisy when it kicks back in, which manages to wake me though earplugs occasionally.Low and High on the fan is really High or Very High in terms of noise, but that is sort of to be expected with the tower fan style drum in such a large unit.Fan runs at approx 100wCold mode runs at approx 500wPros- Dehumidifier mode is handy- Built in thermostat- Timer etc functionsCons- Not quiet- Some additional sealing needed on the hose to he connector- Included hose is not Insulated

Very useful, external vent is a bit of a pain.
Product is great, does what it says it does a few small gripes on "functionality"1. Its very loud even on setting 1.2. The vent and pipework is a bit crap, it doesn't go far enough, and isn't the best.3. You need the vent as when air-conditioning the vented air gets very hot,so need an external feed. (It's a ball ache to get set up)

Great price
Great price for a small portable air con, great for the house or even taking on holiday in the UK. Cools nicely. Only complaint if anything is the adaptor/plate to fit it into a window is for a sash window and there doesn't seem to be any other option.

Not very good
Fine but not very effective. For the price, this doesn't really do much to cool a room down. In the recent 25c heat, it barely is able to get a small double bedroom down below 22 even if on for hours in the evening and is really quite loud to boot.Does it help? Yes, but not as much as it should considering it's supposedly kicking out 16 degrees air. Disappointing product, little better than a good fan 1/3 the cost

Very good aircon unit for the money, certainly no louder than other similar units
This is the 3rd portable air con unit I now have in the house. I also have a 9000BTU and a 12000BTU unit for other rooms.I used this in my WFH office/study which is roughly a 12" by 10" room. Which runs with 3 PCs and numerous monitors, so it gets quite hot.It comes with a hose about 170cm long. Not the longest but just about enough for me to vent out of a window. I did use this with a separate window kit (There one provided works for sash/sliding windows which I don't have).Basically much louder than just a fan, and audible by others on work calls. But less noise than if you were on the a London underground train for example. In terms of noise levels, it's about the same as my other portable air con units certainly no worse.Of course it's more noise than a dedicated unit (with an external unit).I found if you wear noise cancelling headphones/airpods they'll cut out over 90% of the noise. In terms of cooling performance, I found even in the 30c heat outside, running this unit kept my room at a reasonable 22-23c (I didn't want to set lower, but it will go lower).Bought this on offer from under £150, so very happy with it definitely recommend this from my early experiences.

Excellent little unit! I've got 2 of them.
For the price - this is excellent. No, it's not like going into a shop as their aircon is industrial, but honestly- leave this unit on for 10 mins plus and you will 100% feel the difference in the summer months and heatwave. I tend to run them for hours at a time and sometimes overnight- my energy bills have NOT increased. We live in a townhouse and the 1st and 2nd floor get sooo hot, I bought 2 of these units (1 last year, and another this year) and it meant we could relax and sleep comfortably even when it was 30° +If you want immediate cool down, just stand in front of the unit, but ultimately this is intended to cool a single room. Put the hose out of the window and seal around it (I initially used sellotape and clingfilm, then I bought a window kit from Amazon). Make sure the door to the room is also closed. If used correctly these are so good, I fully recommend. Might even buy a 3rd one next year!

loud
Loud , but cools well .You will need extra ( longer ) exhaust pipe to reach any top windows .

Economical & Efficient
We bought this as a spare after problems with a more powerful unit. For a budget model it performs really well and uses half a KwH less energy than our former 12,000 BTU Unit
