Another Excellent Read by the late Dr. Greenspan
Another of Stanley Greenspan's work that is an excellent read. I am a professional in this field but would recommend it to parents and others involved with children. In this world there is so much insecurity and we must work even more vigilantly to make sure our children feel safe.

Beautiful Book
This book, just like ALL other books by Stanley Greenspan, is a treasure to humanity. It describes to the point without unneeded and confusing information, the emotional world of children, and what can be done to help children overcome their issues. If all parents would read and understand this book, this planet would be a happier place.

A Must Read for Parents, Teachers, & Mental Health Professionals
I recommend this book for all parents, teachers, and mental health professionals. Similar to all of Stanley Greenspan's books, the stories and case examples throughout the book make it an easy read. As a child psychologist, I refer to this book often myself and in passing it along to parents. The advice given is simple and developmentally sound.

A Post-Sept. 11 Help for Parents
Although this book is a response to Sept. 11, it is useful to any parent with a child who at times experiences rejection, insecurity or awkwardness. In other words, any parent. Among Greenspan's recommendations are daily "floor time" of at least 30 minutes with each child and being empathetic with your children even after they have misbehaved. I plan to focus on floor time and empathy with my 5-year-old, and I believe doing so will improve our relationship. The only reason I didn't give this book five stars is I suspect many of the ideas are not original to this particular book. Greenspan has written, co-written or edited 19 previous books on child psychology.
