Compact, secure
Well made. Not sure that the ball is "fluid" damped motion, but very smooth with 35 deg tilt from the horizontal all around except for the notch where it increases to 90 deg. Calibrated degree scale for the 360 deg horizontal rotation. Two linear bubbles and one circular (for the 90 deg from vertical). Anodizing appears to be well done. Two locking knobs for the ball at 90 deg to one another. I guess the two knobs are in case a heavy lens; my approach is to loosen both knobs, then tighten one enough to obtain fluid but contained motion, position the camera, then tighten both knobs. The camera plate is standard size and shape with the addition of 2 set screws that slide in depressions in the base of the head; even if the locking knob on the base is a tad loose, this design will keep the camera from sliding off the head. But to use this plate on a different ("standard") head, the set screws will have to be removed, a minor inconvenience - or use a different mounting plate. Using with a Sirui P-326 monopole - combined weight 1.7lb. Extremely pleased.

It's not a premium top class product, but the value is great.
I was looking for an interim head, to hold me over until I'm ready to invest properly in a long term top-notch ball head. High quality tripods and high quality heads are expensive, and worth the investment. If you can afford it now then absolutely make the jump and spend at least 3 or 4x as much for a quality head. But for my needs, or if you're just on a tight budget and need the most for your dollar, this is a great buy.It feels well made and nicely weighted. The ball movement isn't quite as smooth as I'd like, and using the knobs in action is a little more fiddly than it should be, but some of that is just familiarity with the device. I've had no issues so far with it holding up my heaviest combo (a77ii + 70-200\2.8) as long as it's properly tightened. It's better than the other budget and stock heads I've had so far.

Very Impressive Tripod head
Finally received the Sinnofoto tripod head, and the product is better than I had expected.Very solid feeling, reasonably light weight, not flimsy, not cheap, not toy-like. A solid feeling piece of gear. The knurled locking knobs feel good, not sharp nor prone to slip. The knobs all have a very positive "tight" feel. The head stays in place and resists sag or drift when tightened in the desired position.Very pleased with the product.Shipping was a disaster, First shipment = Lost. Order cost refunded, second order product placed = Lost/Found & Delivered 2 days late on "next-day" delivery charge. That is not the fault of the product, it is on FedEx.

High strength, smooth panning, and solid position holding
My first reaction when removing the ballhead from its box was the weight. Not that it is light or too heavy but that the weight indicates that it is solid metal and not plastic junk. It is solid enough to hold heavy cameras or other devices that don't exceed about 25 lbs. My second finding was that it has good drag and smooth motion when it is rotated on the base. This insures smooth azimuth panning. One of the knobs allows adjustment of the drag on tilting motion of the ball so it also provides smooth panning in two axis tilt. When the hold nobs are tight it holds a solid stationary position. Contrary to some of the reviews the rotation is very smooth. I recommend this any of the others I have views on Amazon.

performs very well for size & price
only had this a few days and tested while tripod was sitting on carpet & solid base. For size & cost, this is a smooth rotating ball head. As a general rule , larger diameter & more expensive = smooth and more weight ! So comparing this to a $160 or $360 ball head over twice it's size would be unfair. I found that the "settling" with a 37oz. (2.3lb) scope attached varied up or down by where the 90* slot was located. >>>>>UNLESS - you read the instructions men- (as my wife said) - Look at step 4, then 5 & 6 (i don't use the bubble as my "bird" scope has mil-radian cross hairs) looking @ a tower 1050 yards away - my cross hairs stayed on a antenna platform without or minimal movement. (less than 1/10th mil) 1/10th mil = .36" every 100 yds, 1000yds would be 3.6" measured. So for this price - holding this weight it deserves 6 stars. Durability- haven't used this for a year yet so 4 stars.

Great tripod head but...
The tripod head works great but, it won't stay tightened down so if you accidentally turn to hard you will unscrew the head. Also, lack of clear instructions which isn't a big deal but just a warning for someone who doesn't know how to use one of these coming from different styles, etc. It's very light weight and well made none the less, and has a very solid feel when putting your camera in. You never feel like your camera is going to fall out or that you have a stable platform to shoot from. All in all I'd say if I had to buy another I would buy 2 next time. For my backup tripod and as a spare.

Stands Behind their products!
The absolute thing I most like about this product besides the solid build quality was the excellent customer service experience I have had. Immediately after ordering this product I was stricken with a very bad medical emergency. As such it was several months before I could even open up the product, let alone use it. When I opened the box I discovered that I was missing the actual quick release plate off of the device. This is the plate that attaches to your camera via the tripod a few on the bottom of the camera. I explained my situation and they immediately jumped at sending me a plate for it. No hassles of BS. I appreciate their speed and attention on this, especially since it has been so long since I had purchased it. They recognized that bad things do happen and corrected it. I would definitely buy from them again. Great customer service!

Perfect operation and size for the task.
I mount a FX Air Rifle on this tripod head. Very sturdy, very smooth. The tension knob is big enough for easy operation. Perfect size for what I needed. Great price.
