Anyware Collection Children's Stainless Steel Dish Set, 5 Pieces, Butterfly

Growing up, my family always had a stainless steel plate with an elephant engraved on it that my brother was given as a baby gift. My brother and I always gravitated toward it, even as teenagers, when we wanted a snack. Over the years it held its beauty, and there was something so satisfying about using it. When I had my first child 7 years ago, I desperately looked for something like it, but could find nothing anywhere. Someone sent me a metal dining set, but it was silverplate, and just not the same. Needless to say, I was so excited to find these, and ordered 3 sets, one for each of my children.They arrived, and they are just as nice as I'd hoped. The sizes are great, perfect for children, but not ridiculously small. My 7-year old will probably get another year or two with the fork and spoon, but will continue to use the bowl and plate for years, if she's anything like her ole' mama:)I was only slightly surprised to find that the sets were made in China. Pretty much any steel product these days is, in my experience. I emailed the company to address this, and see if they do any testing on the products as I was concerned about lead. The president of the company wrote back very quickly, and was so incredibly nice and helpful. Here is part of her response: "You can be rest assured that my products have no lead (bpa, phlates...or anything of the like. As a matter of fact 18/8 #304 stainless steel never has lead it in. It's just not in the components. This is my first production run and yes, it has been tested by the one of the two top most reputable third-party testing companies in the world.I have all the documents to support the multiple testings I have done for this product.I understand today's market place (and how scary it can be for parents...I'm one of them) so I made sure to support myself with as much information as I could before I launched the collection." She offered to send me all of the documentation.All in all, I would highly recommend these, and am very satisfied with my purchase!

If you have a small bird or the like you can use these...I ordered them for my kids and the bowl is barely a cup, and the plate barely holds a sandwich :(Unreal...why would you guys make food dishes so small??? Frustrating-

This set is not worth its price. The cup and the plates have really sharp edges. The cup is the worst. I am surprised that the manufacturer didn't bother to smooth the edges, especially considering the price they are charging and the fact that this set is designed for accident prone toddlers. It would also be nice if the cup was bigger and had a handle.

The quality is good. The thickness of the stainless is good. They'll probably last forever.Having said that, the bowl is ridiculously small and the plate is small. I think the plate will be too small after he is about 5 years old. The bowl is already too small for my one year old for eating soups or oatmeal. It is probably going to be ok for giving him a small amount of blueberries or cheerios once he is older and able to use a bowl by himself. The set would've been so much more useful if the bowl and the plate was just a bit bigger.My biggest grip with this is that the cup came with scotch tape on the inside to keep it from moving in the box. The tape was hard to remove and I ended up having to use Goo-Gone to remove the sticky residue from the cup. The whole point of this was to keep chemicals from my baby and I think having to rub Goo-Gone on the cup defeats the purpose.

Everything seems well made. My concern is the bowl is tiny! I have a 3.5 year old who this bowl is way too tiny for.

I try to minimize the exposure of BPA and other chemicals as best I can. However, I realize there are things I can't control. I know this set is a little pricey but after owning it for more than a year......it's WORTH it. Here are the pros and cons.Pros:1. BPA free2. Child proof/Shattered proof3. Durable4. Complete set with spoon and fork5. Baby will love the butterfly6. Super easy to clean7. The spoon and fork are very useful. I used the fork to feed chunky food when out and about to minimize using hands. Liked the fact it was small therefore easy to pack. Within time kid will have no problems using the fork.8. Good size. My daughter is almost 3 and I still feed her on this.9. The shape of the plate minimizes food to get all over the table because of lack of coordination.10. Super cute!!!!Cons:1. Gets very hot when you transfer hot food onto plate, therefore, you must let food cool before giving to baby. It doesn't bother me because it does cool quickly.2. Butterfly does fade within time.Overall..I highly recommend it. Have bought this set for others as gifts. It's on my top ten things to buy for baby that are useful.

The butterfly engraving is pretty faint. Didn't seem like it would stand the test of time. The box had a tab on it like it had been hanging on a Walmart display hook. I thought it was tacky and would have made it difficult to wrap. The bowl had some dark markings in it but they came off in the dishwasher (still, shouldn't have to wash a gift before you give it). The final straw was that the plate had a long, deep scratch right across the middle. Returned and will not buy from this vendor again.
