Joyriver Electronic Rat Trap kills rats quickly and humanely with a high-voltage. The trap kills one rat per setting, and can kill up to 20-30 rats per set of 4 "C" batteries (not included). Joyriver Electronic Rat Trap is extremely easy to use. Simply bait, place, turn on and empty. Joyriver Electronic Rat Trap is equipped with advanced smart circuit technology that senses when a rodent enters the trap. If the trap is baited, placed in the rodent's path and turned on, the trap will do the rest! Joyriver Electronic Rat Trap emits high voltage shock immediately the rat enters the unit and triggers metal plates. Since rats can restart their hearts after an electric shock, this trap applies a continuous shock for 4 minutes to ensure a complete, humane kill. First it delivers high voltage shock for 1 minute, then impulses 15Hz electric shock which imitates rat's heartbeat for 3 minutes to kill rats completely and humanely. The light turns from red to green and flashes once every 5 seconds to indicate a kill. High voltage shock will not be produced until the unit is restarted. Every after killing a rat, press switch to "OFF" position (O) and remove case of the unit to clean the chamber, dry it under the sun, then it can be reinstalled to use. (Use cleaning agent to clean out the smell that the dead rat remained, otherwise rats may not come again).
