Magic Moments: Definitive Burt Bacharach Coll

While this three-CD, 75-song box set only has about 8 tracks actually credited to Burt Bacharach, it's certainly the best representation of his music likely to ever be assembled, this time a world or UK feel. Since the previous 3 CD, 75-song box set Bacharach has 2 newer musical tracks & change a title of the remaining 6Bacharach songs. Of the remaining songs there are more English artist versions than the last set i.e. it's the Walker Brothers not Jerry Butler singing Make It Easy On Yourself & Nancy Wilson not Lou Johnson singing Reach Out For Me. But it's still music from one of the most loved & successful songwriters of all time. It's a great second set from Burt Bacharach

Burt Bacharach and Hal David were one of the great music and lyric teams of all time. The 3 CD set mostly picks the versions of their songs that were hits, but some are performed by other artists that had lesser hits with the songs. The remastering of these songs is terrific. Thoroughly enjoy the music. Unfortunately Amazon’s packaging lacked any protection for shipping CDs and as a result the plastic jewel case (made for 3 CDs) was destroyed. The CDs were fine but they could have been ruined by the poor handling and no protection. I was lucky. I kept the CDs because it took Amazon a couple months to ship this after cancelling my order the first time. Quite disappointing. They used to take greater care.

Well produced, sound is true. Contains all the hits you would be seeking. Original artists. very good listening, worth the money

Would have given it 5 stars, but CD #1 defective

When Magic Moments arrived (used) I was at first, a bit disappointed. The case showed much more wear than I was expecting from an item with that high of a grade. I bought it as a Christmas gift for my wife and thought that she might reject it. Thankfully I was wrong. The three cd's were in perfect condition. We played them over and over all Christmas day, enjoying a huge part of the soundtrack of our lives. This is a treasure trove of popular music. I just wish that these were available new, at a reasonable price. We swon't be getting rid of this copy though.

Lots of Mr. Bacharach's famous and a little less famous works sung by many different artists. Great addition to any Bacharach fan's audio library.

Have loved his music since the 60s. It gets better with time. Hal Davis and he were an excellent musical team. Great variety and some I am hearing for the first time. Well produced.
