Place it about 1 meter high, when flys hit, it will go BANG

It works! (mostly)
Seems well made and does the job, with a very satisfying crackle when something lands on the elements. Only minus comment is that it is slightly overpriced.

Snap, Crackle and Pop!!!
We live in the country and are surrounded by sheep on one side and orchards on the other. The perfect spot to be inundated by flying creatures of all sizes! Our old (and cheap!) zapper died and we chose this one as its replacement... honestly shopping by price alone. The unit arrived super quickly, and was quite a bit larger than I had anticipated but this was no bad thing as it fitted into its slot in our kitchen perfectly. On plugging in and switching on I was surprised by the brightness of the two tubes, at night they do a pretty good job of lighting up our entire kitchen. It didn't take long until CRACK! one less fly. This equipment electrocutes with maximum prejudice, turning a house fly into a shower of sparks, a small puff of smoke and then, well, very little else remains. The easily removable tray makes cleaning a doddle. As a few other reviewers have mentioned, the lower bulb has just the very slightest "barbers pole" rolling effect going on. This isn't (usually) the sign of a failing tube, it generally indicates that the tube is running at a slightly lower voltage than rated. This doesn't have any effect on the brightness and should help the tubes last a bit longer. The manual states tubes are non-replaceable, but as someone who knows one end of a screwdriver from the other, I would beg to differ. All in all a great purchase, solidly built and very effective. Every fly that meets its demise is at least going out in a shower of glory!!!

A satisfying sadistic approach to dealing with flies
Bought this for my son who was plagued with flies in his flat, so much that, it was driving him insane. Not wanting him to be sectioned, I bought this for him in the off chance it may actually be any good.Needless to say, upon delivery he installed it straight away and it more or less instantly brought a smile to his face. Its the sound of a fly being drawn into the light before being caught and literally exploding, which is very satisfying he told me. One by one, the flies succumbed to the light, each time it was followed by what sounded like someone clapping their hands once. Each time, it made my son jumped. It wasn't long before peace and harmony had once again returned to his flat, well until the next crisis unfolds. :)

Does what it’s supposed to!
The media could not be loaded. Worth it for us. We have huge windows that we like to have on the latch and pesky flies and moths make their way into our living room/kitchen often. This piece of kit is great. As you can see from the video it’s somewhat of a graveyard. I was sceptical at first but we keep it on all day whilst we are in the room and in the evenings try to keep it as the only light source to expedite the process.I did feel very bad for the large moth and the way the flies may have suffered but we have had somewhat of a fruit fly issue and the bugs flying in through the windows too. This has sorted the issue out within two days of use.Highly recommend. Took one star off as the bottom bulb was flickering at first but this seems to have resolved for now but will be keeping an eye on it in case it needs changing.

Super effective, no more flies!
I bought this based on the review that said something like ‘sadistically satisfying way to deal with flies’ and thought if it’s even half as effective it’ll be worth it. (A building near us was demolished and there were so many flies, and the diy fixes did nothing)That reviewer was not wrong. Definitely go for the big one.Within 5 mins of turning it on, it started working. The sheer amount of flies its caught was a little depressing but also a relief to have them dealt with! It catches all sizes - from fruit flies to blue bottles and the occasional wasp. It works best when it’s the brightest thing in the room, but does still work in the daytime. You get used to the sound of the flies getting zapped - fair warning you can hear it from the other end of the house.

Brilliant
Well what can I say , best one Iv ever had barring the fact it’s going to give me heart failure, as soon as I put it up and switched it on it hasn’t stopped catching bugs flies what ever, I live in a village with fields all around me back onto fields so flies are a pain, it deffo does the job , has a tray to pull out and empty , comes with a chain to hang it up all so simple even for me as I’m disabled , worse part for me was getting on my kitchen steps , so loud my dogs kept barking at it , there getting use to it now , it’s brilliant ..Edit : bought one for my son who lives on a farm , he loves it , flies are less and less , wish I’d known bought this years ago

Fab purchase!
I was sceptical about this purchase having read other product reviews but this fly zapper is amazing! Works better in a darker environment but I bought it as I have new bi fold doors into my white kitchen which is very bright. I put it in the utility room and leave it on all day and you can hear it zapping the flies, they go with a bang and makes me jump. The cord is very short so needs to be close to the plug socket but I guess if in a commercial setting there would be a high up plug for this function. I have not hung it on the wall using the chain yet but thinking about it. Overall I’m very pleased with my purchase as it has reduced the number of flies. It’s not very pretty but functional.
