Pros and Cons
I give this pack three stars...reluctantly...there is so much good about it!So lets start with the good! First of all, nothing beats the convenience of a hydration pack for hiking, cycling and running. It is so nice to be able to grab a drink on the trail without removing your bag and digging your water bottle out. If you are like me, you want one of these for each of your kids! Water breaks on the hiking trail take FOREVER with kids! As a matter of fact, now that I have used this item to try it out, its actual owner will be my 11 year old daughter. Which brings me to my next PRO...This bag has an adjustable CHEST STRAP...(see the photo of the orange colored buckle) it adjusts by being tightened, of course, but ALSO can be adjusted up and down, making it PERFECT for women, as the strap can be raised. I wear it just a few inches below my collar bone, and it fits amazingly well! The pack fit comfortably and I was able to get it snug enough to run with it without having it bounce around on my back. The RESERVOIR (or bladder) on this bag holds about 2 liters, a great amount for a day hike. The closure on the reservoir is really interesting to me...it took a few tries to get the hang of closing it. WAY better than a zip-loc type closure. When I ran with the bag, it didn't leak at all, so I am inclined to be impressed with the way it functions. There are also two STORAGE POCKETS, large enough to hold a phone, sandwich and a couple of protein bars. The size of this bag (being one of its best features) means that pocket storage IS limited. However, there are plenty of loops on the outside of the pack. You could grab a couple snap hooks and attach an extra water bottle, first aid kit, or even a sweatshirt on the outside of the bag.The BITE VALVE comes with a built in cover. I love that! (And P.S. A lot of reviewers have complained about using teeth to get a drink...but all the hydration packs I have used are the same. I have tried three brands now, and have looked at many others. That is just how they work.)Okay...so now for the CONS:I love that this bag has a detachable BITE VALVE. However, the bite valve detaches WAY too easily. Because of the length of the straw (which hangs to my hips when I wear the bag) I chose to tuck the bit valve into the waist strap. When I went to remove it, the trigger release caught and the bite valve came loose. I love the idea of the feature, for easy cleaning, but I would rather not have it come loose on a hike or run. I simply wish it had a lock feature. When I messed around with it later my opinion was confirmed...it comes off way to easily. I will need to warm my kids to be very careful with it. I might actually secure it with a length of electrical tape for a hike. The STRAW is too long, without an extra place to clip it. I love the way the Camelbak products have an additional clip, lower down on the strap, to attach the straw so that it doesn't flap around or drag on the ground when you lean over to tie your shoe. I would love to see that feature added to this pack. The biggest drawback to this pack is the buckle mechanism on the WAIST STRAP. On one side, the buckle is very nice, with a locking mechanism so that when you tighten the strap, it stays tight, locked in place. On the other side, however, the strap is simply looped through and held in place by an elastic band. Now, when I tightened the strap to where I wanted it, if I took in a deep breath of air, the waist strap just loosened right up. In the second photo you can see that I put a safety pin in the strap to hold it in place. I do not plan to return the product, but if you are planning to purchase this, you should know that there is a design flaw. When using a pack like this for a long hike, you need that waist strap to be secure to lift that weight off of your shoulders, and center it on the lower back. If this strap is loose, it does not work properly. Side note: A smaller person (I am 5 feet 4 inches) should know that this waist strap will actually hit you on the lower rib cage when the straps are all appropriately snug for a jostle-free carry. Just don't expect that it will actually sit at the waist for a smaller adult or child.I will definitely use this pack, as will my daughter, for hiking and running. It has a lot of perks. But be aware of the design drawbacks before purchasing!I received this product at a discount for my honest, unbiased review.

We love them, and have used them daily since their ...
I purchased 2 of these hydration packs for myself and my fiance. We love them, and have used them daily since their arrival. The water bladder itself is incredibly easy to use - the bag opens completely at the top (which makes cleaning and drying a breeze), but seals 100% without leaks with the slide seal system. It also makes it easy to fill up with ice cubes and water for hot days. The hose is skinnier than other hoses I have seen, but the waterflow is still good. The bite valve is also detachable for cleaning, and comes with an attached cover to prevent it from getting dirty. The backpack itself has both a chest and stomach strap, and the chest strap has an emergency whistle attached to it. It has a few reflective strips on the back, that you could use to hook things on, and two zippered pockets on either side of the bag that can hold a wallet, cell phone, battery pack, or other small things. You could probably fit a few things inside the bag itself as well, but I have not personally tried that. What really made this a 5 star bag was the customer service from Duo Active. I brought my bag on a canoe trip, and in the process of trying to right my canoe after tipping (which, the bags are really sealed, no creek water got in), I pinned the mouthpiece between the canoe and my leg and ripped it off. DuoActive was very prompt and helpful in their response to get me hydrated again, even though breaking the bag was completely my fault.

I like the pack
I like the pack. fits snug and does not move while running or biking. The water is a little hard to get to come thru the mouthpiece. You have to push a plunger type mechanism while sucking at the same time. Will take a while to adjust. The way the bladder is filled or emptied is a plus. You can easily clean the bladder and ensure it is dry for storage.

Bag connection got disconnected, but this is good when it works:
My first hike with this was very frustrating because I did not realize the straw had become disconnected at the bag. After I reconnected it, the product worked fine.

... I had to give it away because I wasn't satisfied with it
Base on what I read about this hydration bag barely any space to store items I had to give it away because I wasn't satisfied with it. I end up buying the osprey pack instead.
