I typically do not write reviews but i ALWAYS rely on them for purchases. Needless to say this was my 3rd or 4th version of expanding hoses i have bought from amazon so i have plenty of experience with proper handling of these hoses as they can be prone to failure. Some fail because of misuse, others because of poor quality or workmanship.I must say i had this product in use for about 3 weeks and it was fantastic! Until it failed... I believe i had a defective hose as it broke midway (the core popped somehow). I contacted the seller about replacing the hose and they responded almost immediately!! All they required was a picture of the hose and after i sent it, i almost instantly received an email back with a 99% off discount code so i could purchase the new one right through amazon. That is incredibly convenient as I have Amazon Prime so it was free 2 day shipping. I have already received the replacement hose and all is in working order.Product seems to be of good quality and i believe i just had a fluke/defective hose. Definitely would recommend! Excellent customer service!UPDATE 2020: I no longer have any of these expandable hoses. They all seem to fail eventually, whether a design flaw or user error, they are a little too fragile for the environment that they are intended to be used in. All well

Edited - I loved this hose. Until last week. I just turned it on and within a couple minutes it split somewhere in the middle and the seam of water spread quickly. Within 15 seconds it was totally unusable. Its a shame I really liked it. If it had lasted longer I wouldn't even have changed my review. When it worked it was so easy to use and produced a powerful stream of water.My original review is below.I was skeptical about these compact hoses after reading some poor reviews. Then I read the positive reviews on this one and decided to take a chance on it. My initial thoughts was using during the winter months so I could easily connect and disconnect it to hose the salt off the cars periodically during the winter. The first thing I noticed when it arrived was it felt much more "substantial" than some I had looked at in stores. After using this for a couple months I'm very pleased with the way it connects, expands, contracts, and stores away when not being used. The on/off valve at the end is also very useful. I don't think its meant to replace a full size hose for watering the grass, connecting to a power-washer, etc. but it works for what I'm using it for.

I will really be able to properly rate this hose in another 6-9 months.I have only used this hose a few times since purchasing in the late fall of 2016. This hose is heavier than other expandable hoses I purchased. It's outside wrap is a fabric of some sort and it has snagged and then torn. I haven't had a chance to really determine how well the water pressure is conveyed from the house faucet to the end of the hose.My experience with other expandable hoses has been their lifetime can be from less than a few minutes to as much as six months. The price of these hoses have not been a gauge for their useful life.

Looks nice. I do think it gets quite long if you really crank up the water pressure. I wasn't expecting how much the hose would shrink back up while spraying. But perhaps my older home can't maintain the water pressure. That is not the reason for my 3 star rating, however. I took off 2 stars, and contemplated giving it 2 stars total, because of the integrity. Man this house is delicate. It only gets moved across my patio (pretty new, not cracked). After about three months, it has sprung a leak. It didn't even hit anything or get poked by a stick. I quite like it up until then.

While the hose itself did not have the longevity I was hoping for, the company's customer service is excellent. I bought this hose quite a while ago, but used it very sparingly for the first few months. It wasn't until recently that I used it fairly regularly for about two weeks, after which point it sprung a leak. The company had sent out an email to me after I had first bought it saying that they would do whatever it took to make sure I was satisfied with their product, even if it was after the 5 month warranty had expired. Well, it was way past the warranty expiration date (like months after) and they still replaced my damaged hose, and they did it in a day!

I wanted a nice looking hose because I have it on my front porch . It IS nice looking but I have to coil it and hang it back up just like any other hose. Even without a nozzle on the end of it, it just lays there.Also, even though my son and I measured very carefully I don't think it stretches as far as it says it will.This was not an inexpensive purchase but I hate hassling with returns.I'll keep it but will not order anything again.Linda Wells

i bought this in November, 2016, after 2 other different brands, similar. Though I hadn't used it much (because it was winter), I loved it. Until it busted and the "balloon" inside came out. I was super, super, super careful with it, so I'm very disappointed. I have ordered another in hopes that maybe this one was just defective. If it hadn't split, I would have given it 5 stars because everything else about it....length, weight, etc. is amazing.UPDATE****Oh my gosh! After posting this review last night (and ordering a new hose) I received an email from Golden Spearhead, apologizing for my disappointment and refunding my money. Who does that !! Of course, I am beyond pleased at their response. I just had to change my rating in part because of the customer service. I'd already stated how much I love this hose and now I am enamored with the company.

This hose was purchased to replace a similar model, by a different maker, which had ruptured. So far, we haven't had any problems, but without actually measuring it, this hose does not extend as long as its predecessor. Also, the hardware that connects to the faucet doesn't swivel like you might expect. Once, I accidentally unscrewed it from itself. Having discovered the anomaly, it hasn't been a problem, but it does require attention.In spite of all this, we are happy with the hose. And we love the color!
