The manga for the most part follows the game verbatim, though I have noticed both Kingdom Hearts mangas have left out Halloween Town for some reason. But that's besides the point; the manga itself is great and cuts out the grinding and run around of the video game and focuses just on the story.

Was not expecting it to be really fat but that was great because more for me to read and the enjoy the manga version of KH2. TL;DR Good book for KH fan

I don't know if it's because of the edition or if it's how Tokyopop decided this volume of KH2 to be, but this book read's from right to left and not from left to right like the other volume I own (KH volume 4). I really enjoyed the drawings in this and the story as well! It's just as the PS2 video game maybe even better since you don't need to go through the trouble of playing it, plus it has some more extra scenes (they are small but funny). Sora does not appear much in this volume, but they do talk about him. The main character is Roxas and that's as far as I'll go because I don't want to spoil it. This volume is great and I recommend it, I have owned it for some days now and read it like 3 times a day! If you like KH and don't own this volume it's a must have.

Love this Kingdom Hearts is my favorite video game series of all time I bought vol 1 & 2 by Tokyopop at a book fair back in 2008 but they never released the rest but then when I heard that they were being reprinted by Yen Press I knew I had to pick them up I bought 2 and 3 first because I didn't have enough and I figured the Yen Press vol 1 was just vol 1 & 2 of the Tokyopop so I bought this one and this time the right one was sent because the last time I ordered from a different seller they sent me the Tokyopop edition vol 1 but they didn't know the difference between the two so it wasn't on purpose

I am so excited to have all of the new American releases of Kingdom Hearts manga coming in! Kingdom Hearts II was excellent, going a bit beyond the two releases that were distributed here in the past. There are also some bonus color pages, and two photo-prints of the cover for the original releases of Kingdom Hearts II, Volume 1, and Volume 2. I highly recommend this purchase!

This best serves as a companion to the game series rather than a replacement. The more humorous take on the story can appeal to many players, though mostly those who already played the game. The only downside to the manga series is that combat is heavily condensed or just glossed over.To those who purchased the original prints of the KH2 manga by TOKYOPOP, this serves like a compilation or a catch-up.

I love the story. This is about my favorite game ever. There is just one thing I didnt like I bought the book USED, I paid a penny lol plus shipping it came not in perfect condition but used will not complain. Because it was so cheap hahahaha but great manga.

Bought it for a kh lover and it was a great gift

I'll tell you a story.. a couple years ago I didn't live with either of my parents, I was staying with other families. Anyways...I was too young to even know what Kingdom Hearts was and I came across this book and I read it, I kind of liked it and I was even more interested since it was a manga book. So I read it from front---*back to front and I really liked it and I grew interested in it so I asked the owner of I could buy it, she was emotionally attached to this book and so I couldn't get my copy. After the years past this book was completely wiped out from my mind, but then I came across the game.. I started playing Kingdom Hearts 2 and I told myself "Why does this seem so.. familiar?" and I played on, after each scene these flashbacks kept coming to me and then it striked me: I read this before! Soon after I realized that the book cover appeared in my mind and I set up a goal to get this book sometime in the future when I start working and getting my own money, a few months later...well here I am! I've go this gem sitting right here in front of me and I couldn't be happier..My only issues is that the book took a heck of a while to get to me but eventually it did, and also it wasn't in perfect condition but I bought this book for one cent so what is there to be bummed about? I freaking love the seller, I would definitely buy another book from them again!

I was surprised by how big this volume is! Pleasantly surprised! A must for any KH fan, its such a lovely book :) cant wait to finish my collection

This has been largely superseded by the bigger final mix volumes, but it was great!

It seems the rest of this manga will never get licensed any time soon, so please be wary before buying this--as its nowhere near to completion. As always mangas based on games dwindle in story where gameplay ussually takes over--but there is plenty of amusement here for fans. You will appreicate this manga much more if you have played the game but as a standalone manga its nothing special. The artwork is nice but sometimes a little too cartoony and bubbly (if you are looking for something a little more serious).
