Wear this item as a pin or a pendant necklace -- two looks in one! This convertible pin pendant necklace began with a brown clay base. I created a stack of many thin layers of pearlized colors: Pantone snorkel blue, russet, white pearl clay and gold leaf, incised the stack with found objects and clay cutters and then took thin slices from it, arranging them on the base in abstract patterns. After curing, I applied two layers of Envirotex two-part resin for a clear layer that enhances the pearly mica grains in the clay and adds depth and gloss. A silver plated pinback was crazy-glued and secured with an extra piece of polymer clay. Lace the sienna colored leather necklace cord under the pinback clasp for a different look! You can also substitute your own chain, cord or ribbon. Pin is signed on the back. Lightweight, waterproof. Size: 2 3/4" W x 1 1/4" H (7.3 x 3.1 cm). Cord length: 22".
