SheafferPrelude Merlot Lacquer Fountain Pen black E0916553

Just like the black version, but a little more lady-like. This Prelude has a ruby red lacquered metal barrel (brass) with silver metal rings ('annelle' style): the cap also seems to be lacquered metal. The nib holder is all plastic with three detents to assist correct holding. A small sign of the budget nature is a trace of tiny moulding ridges on the holder but they are merely visible, not intrusive.The pen is a fairly standard size, and has a good weight. It is also comfortable to hold. It appears to be well made. The cap will post securely but is a friction fit, and doesn't click into place - this is quite common. Balance may be a tiny bit better with the cap posted, but the weight of the pen gives (me) adequate balance without it.The fine to extra fine nib is stainless steel with a little flex (but only on the down-stroke). Some people may find the nib to be too narrow.It delivers a good ink flow and is quite smooth, without any skipping or feedback (using Sheaffer turquoise bottled ink). It is supplied in a simple but pleasing case (commensurate with its cost) and with two Sheaffer standard ink cartridges. It also comes with a Sheaffer cartridge converter, alone costing the better part of £10!Overall, first impressions are that it is a good pen and very good value for money. Recommended.

Des capillaires pour doser l'encre qui sont parfaits. Un confort d'écriture sans pareil, sauf avec un Montblanc (plus cher, plus cher....).Je connaissais le modèle "College" de Shaeffer qui n'est hélas plus commercialisé, c'est dommage.Le service "Envoi + emballage" est irréprochable de la part de ce vendeur.A recommander.

Ha posto in vendita la stilografica Shaeffer Prelude Merlot Lacquer a un prezzo introvabile, sicché i 15€ di spese di spedizione hanno reso l'acquisto ugualmente conveniente. La penna ha dimensioni contenute (paragonabili a una Parker Sonnet), ma si impugna bene. Le finiture sono di buona qualità, ed è provvista di converter. Il pennino è ottimamente alimentato e scorre molto fluidamente, come da tradizione della Casa americana (ora di proprietà indiana). Se riuscite, come me, ad acquistarla a 32€, è da prendere sicuramente.

Styling ist Klasse, Material ist Metall und kein Billigplastik. Fühlt sich gut an und schreibt gut.Ist diesen Preis allemal wert.

The writing experience was exquisitely smooth. The design is well-crafted. My only grouse is that when uncapped for writing, the cap can't be securely put on the non-writing end and keeps falling off. Ink capacity is a limitation too, but I guess these pens were never meant to take notes!
