I bought this to put on my truck seat to make the seat more comfortable and it worked great. I put down two layers of this on the seat and it literally saved my lower back and behind over more than 8000 miles of driving a big rig. An important point is that this foam is dense enough and firm enough to provide the cushioning that is needed to keep your butt properly supported while driving. Using this foam I realized that if you use a softer foam it will not be firm enough to cushion you properly. This foam is firm enough to effectively spread out the force all around your back side. Softer foams will not do it. Softer foams will just crush too easy and spread the force over a smaller area of your butt. It's hard to explain why, but it's true. I'm an engineer and I know. This foam is also very tear resistant and durable. After sitting on it, and handling it, and stretching it during repositioning and getting in and out of the seat hundreds of times it showed no signs of permanent compression or tearing (although I was careful not to tear it). I would highly recommend this for using on seats. You can see on the internet that higher density and higher stiffness foams like this are recommended for seats, and from using this for about 8000 miles I see that advice is spot on. Great product
