Author not named but must have played hooky from ESL class
Awkward grammar and construction. Screen shots faint and often too small to decipher.

Helpful.
Well written. I used earlier versions (word 8) and find this helpful. I recommend it.

Word for beginners
Good book to have, learned a few things that will help me to be better at word.

Disappointingly bad
Most of the book is full of mistakes, errors, and seemingly written by a novice. An exception - and virtually the only one - is chapter 7 on constructing a table, which is actually useful. Sometimes you feel that the rest was written for the kindergarten, with sentences like: 'It is important to note that one style is different totally from another with its unique name.' (p.102) Sometimes the error is astonishing. Page 85 tells you how to remove a footnote. 'Go to Insert tab', it says. Then 'locate "Header" and click on it'. (The image accompanying this shows three option for clicking on - Header, Footer, and Page Number. Clicking on 'Header' will not take you to 'Footer'.) This is typical of most of the chapters. Either the book was never proofed, or the proofer had a strange sense of humour. Having struggled through this book I at last reached the end (p.247) to read the conclusion - probably written by the said proofer - with this hilarious upbeat message: 'I encourage you to also use this knowledge to contribute towards the wellbeing of humanity in your unique way, which in turn, your value will be appreciated in a greater way than you can ever imagine, how do I know this: This is the foundation of how Bill Gate [sic], the founder of Microsoft started his pathway in life.' Maybe the whole book is a spoof on the 'For Dummies' literature, and I simply missed the joke.
