This is the best Southern cook book that we have in our collection. We have had one of these in our family between 45/50 years, bought this one to give to a family member.

My 19 year old son, who wanted to learn to cook so he could do his own cooking at college, was learning how to make his favorite cookies, and he asked me if he could HAVE my cookbook. NO!!! I received mine as a wedding gift in 1986 and I wouldn't part with it for anything. But, I was thrilled to find it available on Amazon. My son now has his own copy.I am from Morgan County, and it is no surprise to me that this cookbook has survived so many reprintings, and is purchased by people all over the country.

You simply cannot beat this cookbook for authentic southern, c ooooooooou country cooking, a must have.

Perhaps just a little prejudiced as I lived in the area when this cookbook first came out, but it truly is a great cookbook. As everyone knows, southerners are great cooks, and I cannot remember finding a bad recipe in it. I have worn out one of these and given several as gifts. Try it you will like it!

I have had a copy of this recipe book since the 70's when it was first published. I bought this copy for my grown son. Now all 4 of my children have a copy of it. It is Southern recipes from families in Morgan County,Alabama. A lot of ols southern recipes in it.
