FAST and LIGHT
I have several brands of casting reel but the speed of this reel is no joke. This reel is fast! Also the micro-control dial was super helpful making slight adjustments to the brake between casts without having to open up the reel to change braking pins. But even if I had to open it, the swinging side door really eliminated the nerve-wracking experience with other reels of dropping doors/parts while in the field. This is also probably the lightest baitcaster reel I've tried. Also customer support was super polite and responsive. Outstanding reel and I plan on buying another for my second rod.

New Frogging setup, CRAZY FAST
Can't wait for spring, this is my new frogging setup. Can't wait to Horse out some hawgs with this 42IPT !!!!!!! TOOK 3 CASTS TO GET THE DEMON EYE AND BRAKES DIALED PERFECTLY 💪💪💪 This is my 4th Kastking Reel , I love the quality of the products and I am Kastking customer for life.

Smooth, fast, powerful, great value
Never bought a reel other than Daiwas and Shimanos for this size class. Tried it out today and landed a decent sized smallmouth bass. This reel is smooth, fast and has a smooth drag. Fits nicely in your hand, light weight and rigidly built. It was firing 3/4oz lures out to 50yds with ease. I am extremely happy with this reel and am sure it won't be my last Kastking. In summation, it is a well built, smooth reel with some serious drag. 18lbs of it!

Thumb Bar will not re-engage after cast.
Thumbar release will not engage. I have not used this for more than a week of fishing and the thumbar will not engage all the time. I am disappointed when you spend 120 bucks on a defective item. Stay away from this reel!I sent this defective reel in to cast king. This product is on backorder. they indicated they will send me an 8.6-1 reel instead because the 10.1-1 is on backorder. getting fishing equipment in these covid times is difficult, getting a product that is not defective is also difficult. i had been a fishing guide for over 35 years and have had every type of reel made. I love kast king spinning reels and have 8 of them. i cannot give a good review for the Speed Demon however as the item is defective. will see after they send the 8.6-1 reel.
