Purple Orchids (The Mitchell Family Series) Paperback – March 24, 2015

I usually don't write a review on books I've read, but I can not put down this book until the end. I feel so sad for callie's demise. A love story so enduring. As I read I have all kinds of emotions going through me as if I'm one of Baylor's friends. I could recommend this to my friends.

This was a great read. I was hooked from the beginning. It was a cute read.

What a journey this was. Gavin and Baylor’s love story is totally epic. This is one for the books. I adore Baylor and her incredible tenacity, bravery and stealth. She really rocked my “woman empowerment” drive. Gavin was just OK for me, although when he put his mind to it he totally knows how to come through. Overall I really enjoyed this book except for a serious sad note I would’ve preferred not be a part of it.

Glad o decided to read this beautiful story! It was written so well and the story made me tear up, a must read!

The book is not awful. I actually think that the book was...cute.It was an easy read where the reader gets to be with the H and h right from the start. I have to agree with some of the other reviewers when they stated that the characters where very flat. H and h have one fight with an instant "sorry" and no resolution. Then after the main conflict, everything is cleared up with an explanation given by a third party and both H and h are extremely logical and understanding of each others predicament. So much so that it was disappointing. In my humble opinion, the h had every right to be be enraged at the choices that the H made but instead they both declare themselves "victims" in the situation.It isn't a book where you hate the H at any point or a book where the h is a complete doormat. However, after the disappointing resolution with no anger or hurt after everything came out, I was forcing myself to finish the book. Like I said, I didn't hate the book but I certainly didn't love it either. Truthfully by the end of the book I didn't really care if they stayed together or not.

Second chance? Secret baby? Spicy book reenactment? YES PLEASE. The epilogue ending? Absolutely precious. I really enjoyed this book and couldn’t put it down as soon as I started reading. Gavin is a total book boyfriend babe. I really loved getting the story of their college days together from start to finish.

It took me a while to get into this book, but once I did I couldn't stop reading it. All the plot twist you don't see coming is what makes this book so great! Highly recommend!

In ‘Purple Orchids’ we read the story of Gavin and Baylor. Gavin and Baylor meet in college. They are totally opposites. Gavin the athlete with the rich family. A real-life playboy with another girl on his arm every single day. And then there’s Baylor. She works hard for everything she’s got. She isn’t into dating, and she definitely isn’t interested in parties. From the moment Gavin and Baylor meet, there is a connection between them. And soon they fall hard for each other. Things seemed perfect, but then something changes everything. And they never see each other again.Now years later they accidentally meet again. And there is a lot of hurt and anger between them. They soon learn that people in their lives haven’t been honest with them. And there lives could have been very different. Now they get a second chance to talk things out. But eight years is a very long time, and nothing is the same anymore.When I first read the book description, I didn’t expect this book to be in different parts but I definitely enjoyed it. In the first part we meet Gavin and Baylor in college. They meet and fall hard for each other. We get to read moments from both Gavin and Baylor’s point of view, and it was perfect. Gavin sure made me swoon at times.The next part in this book is eight years later. We still read the story through both their eyes, and I loved every moment of it. The chemistry between Gavin and Baylor was flying of the pages, and I was really rooting for them right from the start. The romance was amazing, and there where some great sexy moments as well.The one thing that I didn’t love, was the evilness of Gavin’s ex. It just felt a bit far reached. But it didn’t bother me to much since I loved both these characters so much.Overall ‘Purple Orchids’ was an amazing read. And I’m definitely curious to read more books by this author.

Let’s start out by saying that I loved this book and couldn’t put it down. ❤️ I’m a sucker for an elegant cover and beautiful title, so I knowingly stepped onto this rollercoaster, very cautiously, knowing what it would do to my heart…😫 I allowed myself to invest in Baylor and Gavin’s adorable romance knowing they’d be separated. I know some people got frustrated with Baylor after their reunion but I understood her reluctance completely.*SPOILER ALERT* I loved Baylor and Gavin, but I wish there was a little more consequence for every one of Karen’s evil actions. I cringed every time Gavin kissed her and told her he loved her “just not in the way she wants”—he most certainly did NOT take his friend’s advice to nip it in the bud, and 3 lives suffered because of this. I don’t think I can find sufficient words to describe Karen. She’s PURE EVIL, absolutely irredeemable and although there’s the argument that she lost Gavin, the trophy she wanted most, she didn’t suffer nearly enough IMO. Maybe it’s just me but Gavin found his sweet Baylor’s confrontation with Karen amusing when he should’ve been more furious. She betrayed his trust and lifetime of so-called friendship, cared little for his heart (if at all), tore his family apart, broke the love of his life in the cruelest of ways..and it was all calculated. Pure evil. I can’t help but feel that Gavin should’ve been a LOT more ashamed that he ever had anything to do with his friend-with-benefits-of-a-wife!! Ugh! 🤢🤮 *END SPOILERS*Phew! Sorry, had to get that off my chest. 😮‍💨 That said, I rarely write reviews so I must feel passionately about this one. 😅 It was a great story of a beautiful love, very well written and I truly enjoyed it. Just wish there were greater consequences for the injustice and pure evil in this story. 😣

Spanish & English Opinion🇲🇽 Me gustó mucho el inicio. Los personajes también, pero de repente hubo exceso de drama y eso ya se me hizo demasiado.Las tretas de Karen en la parte 2 y 3 eran absurdas, pero entretenidas. Baylor me cae bien aunque a veces quería golpearla. Gavin también me desesperaba con su “inocencia” con respecto a Karen… pero me gustó su arrastre.Callie y Maddox están increíbles.🇺🇸 I liked the beginning a lot. The characters were also cool but suddenly the drama was too much.Karen’s tricks on part 2 and 3 were absurd. I liked Baylor but I was wishing I could punch her a couple of moments. Gavin was not naive but dumb towards Karen’s attitudes, but I liked his groveling.Callie and Maddox were the best!

I enjoyed reading this book. I thoroughly recommend it, as it is not only an excellently crafted story that keeps you engaged throughout the complete story, but also well written and very well edited.The story flows and doesn’t feel forced just to make the story longer, or padded out with sex scenes that are repeated, its just a really good fun, exciting read

Well I'm not exactly sure where to start but this book was amazing , I read a review before I bought it and one reader was saying that the beginning was a little bit boring , so I was a bit sceptical at first , but after I started to read I thought how could she say that because the way I c it is that if u don't read wot Gavin tells u at the beginning then u won't get or understand the whole story , which was amazing by the way although near the end I nearly had a heart attack until I read on , so if ur reading my review and ur thinking that ur not sure about this book then let me say that when I bought this book I also bought the next two at the very same time as I knew I would want to find out wot happens in her sisters lives too and I am so very glad that I did , so now I'm off to read how skylar gets on in her book enjoy reading gals x

A second chance romance that entices, sizzles and wrenches every emotion possible before the end. It's a gorgeous heartwrenching story as youd expect from SC but even in its darkness there's wit and a wonderfully endearing love story that makes you go aaaahhhhh!!!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. 💕💘❤
