Do not recommend
This substrate did not hold moisture near as well as other brands I’ve purchased of this type. We use it for our barred tiger salamanders environment & even when mixed with organic soil that is made to hold more moisture, this does not meet the quality of the brand that Amazon used to have as “top rated”. I tried ti re-order the other one but it is no longer in stock. I rarely write reviews, but felt like hopefully this one could help others from purchasing a sub par product, especially if it’s for a pet.

Working good for mushrooms
Used these in my last 5 monotubs and have had zero issues.

I've had better. Truly
The coir never split up entirely. Lots of big chunks left everywhere. Yes. I added the appropriate amount of water.

Love this
Perfect to use in my worm composter. The worms love it.

Not hard packed
Not a lot of product per brick and easy to break.

A great value!
At $19.99 this was a wonderful value for a great product. I’ll be purchasing more.

Arrived as expected.
I have never purchased this before. Am using it in my potting soil. I was not patient and ran hot water over them then broke it apart with my hands. I’m sure if I had let it sit and absorb, it would have been much easier.

Definitely not the best quality....
Got this product to add to my substrate mix for my plants and unlike the other kinds that I get from the pet shop this one must be lesser quality. It takes far longer than most coir to absorb water almost peat like. Also it doesn't expand much at all. The brick does not even double in size. I will have to cut this product with some other coir source to make use of it or maybe use it in my worm bin to make it better. Will not buy again and can't in good conscience recommend.
