Helps sleep
This book is very long. And probably needs to be to lay out a new way to think about and practice breathing. It's a paradigm shift. I like it because it gave me a valuable tip on how to use breathe to fall asleep. It works. I can't begin to describe it here in a short hand review. Just buy it and you'll see. There is a lot of other valuable info too. Just not a quick book.....

Definitive, Comprehensive and Practical Resource on Breathing to Transform your Health
This is an Amazing book. I have previously read Patrick's book - Oxygen Advantage which was an eye opener and last year when I read James Nestor's book - Breath I was compelled to actively look at breathwork to improve all aspects of my health and well being. Most of us tend to be mouth breathers and we have developed dysfunctional breathing that has a direct impact on our health. Having functional breathing helps to improve focus, concentration, posture, sleep, supporting the spine and reducing anxiety and not breathing properly has adverse effects on us.This is a large book. Over 500 pages including references but Patrick has made it easier as the first 2 chapters contain all the exercises you need within the first 100 pages. There are 26 breathing exercises and each exercise is clearly explained in simple to understand language and illustrations. What this means is that if you are only interested in learning the methods and applying them straight away you can do that easily. If you are also interested in the research then you can delve into the subsequent chapters which are fascinating and eye opening. The methods in the book are backed by decades of scientific research, immediately accessible, take a short time to learn and very easy to incorporate into your daily routine (irrespective of your current fitness levels). Patrick ensures it is easy for us to understand why we are breathing the way we are, looking at the biochemical, biomechanical and psychological triggers of poor breathing.Patrick provides exercises for everyone including children and women, taking into account the physiological differences. There are dedicated chapters for women and children in the book. It is very thorough and even covers Covid and optimal breathing when using Masks.I highly recommend this book to everyone. The exercises within this book will support you in developing functional breathing that will directly hep improve your health and wellbeing. I am grateful to have access to this information and actively incorporating these exercises into my daily life. This is a game changer for health and I hope everyone is able to benefit from the learning in this book.

Page 109 Mask-wearing!!!
A 400-odd page book on the importance of correct breathing and the author endorses claims from Chinese doctors that covid mask-wearing is important...Hypoxia and rebreathing bacteria!!The only reason I didn't return it straight away was because of the hassle of doing it.

Didn't expect so much detail
The type is a little small and on first glance you it seems like an in-depth medical research paper. As you start to read, it is thankfully a well written manual to bring your health back to the best it can be.I was aware of the Buteko breathing method from friends who helped this 60yr old man loose his sleep apnea, midnight leg cramps and and for my wife the intolerable snoring. My cramps started to come back (yes i stopped the treatment) and i was sighing so i bought the book and i am right back on track.

Brilliant book for breathing evangelists
This is one fantastic book for those who support and understand the benefits of breathing properly. One minor caveat is that it would help if you’ve already got Oxygen Advantage by this superb author. Highly recommend the Amazon suggestions for this, Oxygen Advantage and Nestor’s brilliant Breath.Just love the detail , scope and breadth ( no pun intended) of this fabulous book. A must for those who want to help themselves and others.Brilliant contribution Patrick 👍

Needs a contents page.
Desperately needs a contents page. Iris a mine of good info made almost useless by a lack of resource direction.
