VIOFOA129 Dash Cam 5GHz Wi-Fi Full HD 1080P Dash Camera with GPS

I bought this for two reasons, 1st I've had an A119v3 for a couple years and its bulletproof. Second is this one has WiFi (Bluetooth?). There is NO Bluetooth that I can find. It does have WiFi but its very difficult to use. For some reason its built as the AP, not something that connects to an AP. So, you must go into your phones WiFi settings and connect to the Camera's SSID each time, then go into the phone app and connect to the camera. The WiFi implementation is a total Kludge. It should have been implemented via Bluetooth which would have made it much simpler to connect to. I hoped that the WiFi would have been implemented so that the camera would connect to an AP like all normal surveillance cameras do. That would allow RTSP to record from the camera full time. But they literally implemented the WiFi backwards. I tried to get this information from the vendor for a week prior to purchasing it, but that was an exercise in futility so I bought it to see if it would work for me. The camera itself seems to be the same "very good" quality that I liked in the A119v3 that replaced a Blackview that was very unreliable in less than a year after purchase. The vendor is also vague on what 256GB card to get, the ones they recommended had a max size of 128 GB, after I specifically asked for what 256GB card to get.

Purchased as an upgrade from our older model, well worth it. Picture quality is awesome with 60 fps and is still great if you add a rear camera and they both run at 30 fps. Easy set up, you can slide it on and off it's main base so can be moved between vehicles if needed. Be sure to going into the settings before sticking the base to your windscreen or you might get a stiff neck making the adjustments. Highly recommend this camera.

I just purchased this camera to connect my already installed rear camera looking at first picture. The R looks like for rear camera hole. But it is not. There is no photo of the other side. I have rear camera with cable needs audio 3.5mm in put but this camera need Mini USB for input of rear camera! I asked to return the product. After communication with the seller they accepted return request. But I need to pay return shipping for first time in Amazon. I always buy product looking at photos & description & avoid to return. Rarely return item! But for this return it took too long & had to pay return shipping which is acceptable.You should show the product image from all the sides to make clear decision to buy the item!

After having tried many different dash cams, including the expensive BlackVue devices, I keep going back to the VIOFO A129...! The video quality is great (definitely recommend to include the polarizing filter), installation pretty simple and have not come across any other devices that beat the A129 at this price-point.I especially like how the camera mounts on the GPS unit, which makes removing and installing the unit a lot easier than many of its competitors. Absolutely recommend...!

The Wifi interactivity can be frustrating as none of the other buttons will work while connected but file accessibility is made simple. The firmware has been updated in advance. A great upgrade from non-looping dashcams.
