I was not expecting this comic to be so good.
I was not expecting this comic to be so good. Angela: Asgard's Assassin, the trade that comes before this one, is solid but doesn't really delve into Angela as a character. It more or less reinforces her as a bad ass Asgardian warrior and hints at something between her and Sera.Queen of Hel really helps develop Angela as a character and shows her vulnerable side. Her relationship and feelings for Sera are the driving force in this trade. The story is a lot of the fun, Angela travels to Hel to save Sera, and the artwork is stunning. The only thing that bugged me about this trade is that Sera breaks the 4th wall a little too much for my taste. Fortunately it does not detract from how good this book is. I highly recommend it.

Beautfiul.
First off, the art in this was gorgeous. Just moment after moment of beautiful art. Beyond that, I really enjoyed what this team was working toward. This is a great character and very different from Thor. It's a very personal story of a warrior willing to fight all of Hell for the girl she loves and feels she owes.

Beautiful art, badass character
Beautiful art and a darker Norse character make for rich story telling. I’m not sure why Marvel hasn’t capitalized on Angela more, yet. She’s a gorgeous badass with some amazing artists down my her justice page by page, this collection is impressive.

One of my favorites.
Amazing, I'm so glad the team behind this was able to plan out the ending when they knew it was coming, and not leave the story unfinished.

Angela is one great character, of marvel comic hope to see more.
The story is incredible and between the female characters is pretty unique. Keep up the good work. Look forward to more from Angela.

Over doing on female empowerment
Leans a little to much to female empowerment. Seems to be the way certain books have been lately but make me yearn for times past where comic book didn't lean towards such a heavy political issue

Classic Marvel Mythmaking
The three Angela collections are equally fantastic, well worth the OOP collection prices. Hopefully the few deliberately dangling plot threads will be a gateway to more top notch stories, although the initial run’s stories are very wonderfully resolved. It is a bummer the MCU poached Angela’s “lost daughter of Odin” aspect for Thor Ragnarock, as A’s tales would have made for amazing films or TV shows. Still, this does naught to take away from the three series’ pantheon level quality. Action packed yet possessing powerful emotional mythic arcs also (the core of they story). Yes, they are that brilliant!

don’t hate it because it’s “woke”
You’re gonna see a lot of reviews that mention stuff about “diversity” “girl power” “woke” in a negative way. Let me be clear… that, and Stephanie Hans’ gorgeous art, is the only thing worthwhile in this book. The dialogue is cringe inducing. It begs you buy in to a phantasmagorical high fantasy world but constantly slaps you out of it with inane pithy jokes that don’t match the tone. References to pop culture that weren’t funny in 2016 and have aged like milk in the sun. Character don’t have unique voices. They all sound like a millennial who so hard to be cool and funny on Twitter. The pacing is lopsided and slow… I could keep going but…We deserve lesbian/trans murder queen super heroes and we deserve to have them be written well. That’s it. Bottom line.

No redeeming value.
From the title, I expected an epic tale of Angela traveling through Nordic Hel in some epic quest of action, adventure, and possible comic book style cheesiness. However, this is the story of Sera. Lover of Angela who is just a strong, has magical powers, “always known things you have no reasonable way of knowing,” liked by everyone, and talks in a way that goes against lore and setting. Such as several modern music references and “final fantasy victory theme.”Every women within is unstoppable, and every guy is an ideological punching bag to be defeated with ease. What I wanted was a comic book about an underdeveloped character (originally from the Spawn universe) take on a big bad in the marvel universe. A comic book about 2 different religious mythologies clashing in true Marvel style. What I got was Mary Sue and 2 cannon characters do nothing of any consequence or meaning. This belongs on a fan fiction site, not a store shelf.

Klug geschrieben, ein Hauch von Deadpool
Love it! Der Humor ist dunkel und selbstreflektiert. Erinnert an Deadpool. Und hat irgendwie noch Genmaterial von Gayman - tolle Kombi

I like Angela, but she hasn't been presented as a particularly interesting character. Honestly, after reading this I understand why the series didn't become popular enough to not get cancelled. The last two issues in the book are clearly intended as a kind of rushed ending. I appreciate the writers trying to give us a conclusion to the story, even if wasn't long enough. Angela's outfit change when she was trying to take over hell was a good one, and very Game of Thrones. One of the major highlights for this book were all the puns and references to pop culture.
