54mm Bottomless Portafilter for Breville Barista Express, Infuser, Bambino Plus, Duo Temp Pro, BES870XL, BES878BSS, BES880BSS, BES840XL, BES810BSS and More Breville Espresso Machine - Silver

I mainly bought this portafilter so I could shoot cool slow motion film of the stream of golden espresso pouring out the bottom of the filter while using my Breville Barista Express. It’s great for that purpose. And I prefer the balance and feel of this handle to the OEM portafilter.The basket that came with this portafilter is higher capacity than the double shot basket that came with the Barista Express. It’s somewhere closer to a triple shot size IMO. This portafilter holds the OEM baskets fine BTW.The one slight con of bottomless portafilters (in general I expect) is the occasional tiny high pressure jets of errant spraying espresso as you pull shots. Nothing too serious but you might find you’re wiping up a bit more after using a bottomless portafilter. But don’t let that scare you. It’s very cool to use a bottomless portafilter.

Coffee squirts out all over the place......you have to be perfect with every shot. I ended up getting a Double Nozzle for less cleanup. The taste and crema is the same.

Nice and heavy, cool design, fits in my Breville Barista Pro nice and tight. It has been helpful when dialing in my shots to see the bottom of the portafilter to see how uniform the shot is.

This thing is awesome! It is VERY well made.It fits my Breville espresso machine perfectly,The bottomless feature lets you easily check your grinding/tamping technique as it pulls.It matches beautifully with a stainless steel dosing funnel you can get.And cherry on top…it looks amazing! Your guests will find both the espresso and the sex-toy-similarity of this portafilter stimulating!
