Chapin InternationalChapin 41002 Single Zone Water Timer with Digital Display, Red/Black

For the price, this timer is a good value. It does what it's supposed to do. It's a bit cumbersome to program, but once you figure it out, it works well. One caveat is this: It is water-resistant, but NOT waterproof. Curious for a device that will be mounted on a water faucet, outdoors, in the rain. I made a cover for it out of some thin aluminum flashing so that rain will not get into the seam between the cover and the timer body. A plastic bag and a rubber band to hold it on would have worked as well, no doubt.

I installed these timers IMMEDIATELY after planting my plants, and i just didn't have a good vibe about them. They were CHEAP, and they FELT cheap. I didn't trust them. So I set them up to water (via drip irrigation) at 10 minutes every 8 hours. I purchased TWO of them. One went to 50 tomatoes. The other went to 100 four foot long raised beds running Netafin drip pipe. I came back inside and purchased a digital one to replace them. Four days later, I went out there, with my new digital timer, some pliers, and teflon tape. I looked out across my garden and my mouth dropped to the ground. EVERYTHINg WAS GROWING LIKE KUDZU!!! My chile plants had I swear grew 4 inches in 4 days! ALL my maters were stiff and strong. I stood there, staring with the biggest grin, and said... Meh... If they work THIS GOOD, I'm keeping them!Ok THE HACKOne caveat. You set it to water (example) every 12 hours for 15 minutes. It will NOT WORK FOR 12 HOURS!!! Do NOT expect to see it work!!! So what i did was I set ONE of them to water for 10 minutes every hour. I then set my phone timer for an hour. I walked out there at an hour and 8 minutes and it was watering. I pulled a few weeds till it was done watering, and once it was done, I turned the 8 hours to OFF. The timer makes a sound. I counted to 20, and then turned the time to every 8 hours. I then went to the second timer (watering my maters) and turned it to ONE HOUR for 10 minutes. I again set my phone to alarm in an hour, and again when my phone alarm went off I walked out there and observed it watering my maters. Again I pulled weeds till it stopped watering, (just giving me something to do) and once it had stopped, I turned it to OFF. It made a click sound like the other, I waited about 20 - 30 seconds, and turned it to 8 hours. Now both timers water for 10 minutes every 8 hours, and they water one after the other, allowing more water pressure per section of garden.This took a while to type, so if it helped PLEASE hit the HELPFUL button associated with this review.

A few weeks in and this is working great. I wanted something simple, easy to use and not expensive. This fit the bill. A lot of complaints I’m seeing in other reviews would be solved by reading the directions. It does have a delay feature for the timer. Read and keep the directions and you should be happy with this product.

Works well. Only drawback is there is no way to set a start time. It allows to set frequency and duration. For example, every 24 hours for 30 minutes. But the first cycle would begin 24 hours from the time you set it. So if you want it to water everyday at 7:00 pm you would have to do the initial setup at 7:00 pm.If you’re good with that it is a great product otherwise.

It works as hoped. My only issue is that you can’t check the placement of water sprinkler until it is time water. In other words , if you set it for 24 hours, you will need to come outside to adjust the sprinkler coverage.

These are the greatest timers. I have them on trees where I have no electricity, and they do not miss a beat. I have had the same battery in the one I first purchased. It still works. I would suggest this for anyone.

Sprayer was missing the battery compartment and cover on my first delivery. A quick turn around and the new timer works great!

These units are small, good looking, simple. They work fine. I have had one in which a metal connector on the battery tray broke rendering the unit in operable. Hopefully that was a fluke.

I have wasted money on so différent types.This one is so easy to set up,strong and loyal.To seal the hose to the connector I suggest 12 turns of Teflon

The media could not be loaded.  Tengo muy poco tiempo con este producto pero hasta ahora funciona a la perfección. Me parece muy práctico que hayan añadido un botón de retraso para que no tengas que levantarte a las 5 de la mañana para activar el temporizador y puedas programarlo desde varias horas antes de que quieres que inicie a funcionar.

there is no way to set time. only timer.Possible:Run every 24 hours from NOW (when you in the garden).Not possible:Run at 5:00 pm every evening.most irritating pasts:Say I went to 5:00 pm and set the timer to run every 24 hours.Now i cant use that hose for anything else !if i do it will reset from the time I used.

Me gusta que puedes programarlo en el horario que lo necesites y cuando quieres regar simplemente los desprogramas...para está temporada de calor excelente..
