We have been using this non-stop since it arrived over two weeks ago. It is amazing. We dehydrate during the week for snacks to take to sporting events on weekends. No more heavy cooler, no more unhealthy and expensive concession stand food. AND (unlike other dehydrators) no wires and no crazy electric bill! Everywhere we go now people are asking about it. They all like the taste of the dried fruits especially. So far we have dehydrated strawberries, bananas, tomatoes, peaches, mushrooms and raspberries (the raspberries we did not dry completely - just enough to be able to pack them for lunch and eat them without any juicy mess or raspberry-color stained fingers). The cashier at the grocery store noticed that we were back for more fruit, and was so impressed hearing about our experience that he logged onto Amazon from his smartphone after his shift to purchase one for himself!I made one mistake when I first opened it, so maybe reading this will save you from over-complicating it like I did. I thought that I needed to unhook the trays to remove them. Nope. The trays simply lift up and out from the middle, leaving a nice, secured, square border on the edges to set them back onto once you have your foods ready. No assembly (or in my case, disassembly) needed. It is easy and ready to use right away.Right now our dehydrator is loaded with more strawberries, peaches, carrots, and kiwi fruit. Can't wait to share with the team again this weekend!

I had a huge crop of peaches this year and decided to dry some of them. I got the Food Dehydrator Hanging Food Pantrie, which worked wonderfully. My granddaughter thought the dried peaches were candy. Candy of the best sort for sure! The dehydrator was easy to use and did a great job of drying thinly sliced peaches in a couple of days. Now I'm thinking of all the other things that grow near me that I can dry!

It came with a section that broke immediately and the response from the seller was "Just staple it back together." That to me meant that a replacement would be made just as poorly.I tried to use it for a few different things and most went moldy before they were dry. It was useful for drying pea pods that had gone by for seeds, and drying garlic seeds but that was all. For our climate in New Hampshire it was useless because we do not get enough sun for things to dry out in good time.Unless you have a dry sunny climate I would not recommend this product.

I wanted an easy way to dehydrate fruits and vegetables for storage, without electricity, and I found out this works really well. I have used it outdoors in 100+ degree weather with really good success, and I also hung it up indoors in a spot with good air circulation. It is easy to clean, too, and it folds up for storage in the original, sturdy box that it comes in. The box will even fit under a bed if you're short on storage space.

I received this food dehydrator as a gift, and was a little concerned because I'd seem some reviews stating it was not easy to use. I found it VERY easy to use. So far I have dehydrated strawberries, grapes, and tomatoes, and all came out very tasty. The trays wash easily, and getting them in and out of the dehydrator is very simple, as there are holders they attach to and slide on and off of. If I have any concern about the pantrie, it's that the zipper seems a little bit flimsy and I wish it was larger and stronger. So far it's worked fine, but because its narrow and very flexible I'm afraid it may catch onto the mesh fabric and rip it or jam one day. So you have to be careful zipping and unzipping it. But I can't say that's a problem, because it hasn't happened yet and may not. But as far as the ease of using it, loading and unloading, as well as the quality of food it produces, I have had no problems and would absolutely recommend it to any friends wanting to purchase one.

First, Thank You to all those who reviewed this product that I'd never seen nor used, before. One worries that the manufacturer might be posting overly positive feedback to lure suckers into purchasing shoddy goods. However, the positive reviews on this item are 100% accurate. I'm delighted with this non-electric dehydrator, especially after using my electric doubled my electricity bill! I like kale chips but not if they cost me an extra $200 a month! The PANtrie is portable, light, with plenty of well sized trays to dry out lots of food. It's a hands down Great Product at an excellent price, you pay once, not every month you get your electricity bill. Kale chips here I come!Adding this paragraph a bit later and I've confirmed my excitement in using the dehydrator to great success! I used the pulp from juicing and finally I don't have to throw those still nutritious scraps away. They made a delicious soup, I gotta add! Today, I'll be preparing a tasty nutritional yeast dipping for my kale chips, as it'll be a bank of warm, low humidity weather. Thank You to the manufacturers. Truly an excellent product!

I have read all the reviews. For the persons who wrote that this thing never fell apart...shame on you for not speaking the truth. The concept is great, but for the price it should have been better thought out for the tray attachment. Thank goodness for glue, as the designer suggested to use, as he was somewhat offended that he was getting bad reviews. For 60 bucks I felt that I shouldn't have had to reinforce this product to the extent it needed it. It fell apart just lifting or moving it's location, forbid a wind catch it.I checked my glueing this morning and I am much happier with the stability. It will be easy to use for drying my herbs and lighter things. I would order another one if they discounted the price by about 30 percent.
