Replacement bulb works well and just ordered a second for backup. Item comes in a cardboard cylinder with plastic end plugs and no information so I'd recommend the following caveats. 1) wear surgical examination gloves while handling bulb and while cleaning it of styrofoam particles that may be affixed to bulb and its prongs (fingerprints vastly diminish bulb life) 2) unplug UV unit before installing 3) fully install bulb into its enclosure (mine is an opaque drop-in unit with a loose socket at the top for bulb attachment). Then power-up UV unit. Don't ever stare at the light in open space (it's a form of biocide after all). Your retinas will thank you.Edit: first purchased bulb lasted 5 months. Glass at either end of blub was singed. Second was installed and a third ordered. If pattern continues it may be worthwhile to find an alternative.

I've been purchasing replacement UV bulb for roughly ten years. It has worked reliably.

Great company. I received the bulb, but I did not install it until a couple of months later. When I went to install the bulb, it did not work. I contacted the company and they put a new one in the mail to me right away. Plugged it in and it fired right up. Customer Service is a beautiful thing when folks take it seriously like this. Thank you again and great product and company.

When we had this installed a number of years ago the bulbs ran $800 so when mine burned out I didn't bother replacing it. When we went thru to update the water system I checked and bulbs were affordable so I took the step of replacing it. It's nice to have water we know to be safe from microscopic critters once again.

Did not last 1 month. Was very careful not to touch the bulb during installation. Even wore clean surgical gloves to prevent contamination of the bulb. These are a complete waste of money and I can't find the original bulb anymore, so I am just going to get a new UV unit and be done with it.
