I have used 100's of these PowerLags to screw in sheet metal from an old grain silo into 6x6s. I only drilled a small pilot hole (had to get through the sheet metal) to get things started. I did not have an issue with a single lag holding tight. I would have have purchased these again.

Great for outside jobs using 4x4 or 4x6 pressure treated lumber, for projects like retaining walls. Beats pounding in spikes which always irritates my elbow tendonitis. The hex heads don't strip and can easily be driven in with a good powerful battery operated drill or hammer drill. Self tapping so no pilot holes are needed. Probably a little more expensive than other options (spikes, galvanized lag bolts, etc) but well worth the extra $.

These were easy to mount using a cordless impact wrench, and have held well.

I love using Spax fasteners. I'm a remodeling contractor and couldn't find this specific length at my supplier. These are very strong and have a great hold into the lumber. This particular type , the green ones, are ACQ rated for use in pressure treated lumber

These are very high quality screws that do not bend or break. I used them to secure the back of a residential refrigerator in a motorhome. Highly recommend if you need a quality fastener.
