Her Last Breath
Scout is the hero in this one. Thomas is no slouch either, but this fourteen-year-old has tremendous potential and hopefully she will be a continuing character in the series. This one is about a sadistic killer who trips up and leaves just enough breadcrumbs to be caught. I enjoyed this first book in the series.

I wish I could rate this a 4.5
This was a good read! It’s better than a 4, but it’s not quite a 5. Parts were slow, and it didn’t end how I expected based on the title.

Captivating
This book had me hooked from the beginning. Only thing I didn't like was the ending it left loose ends what happened with his dad what happened with Chelsea did levar leave the kings? Did mom make it to rehab? Well still an outstanding read. Would encourage anyone to read it.

Pretty good. Solid 3 stars
There isn’t anything I hate about this book. Honest. I think it’s like, the perfect thriller comfort read… in a way.3 stars because:A few typos and grammatical errors throughout the book.Stereotypical of Black people and gangs. The connection between Chelsey and Thomas is really poor. I didn’t feel anything for them, but then again where the reader picks up and where the story starts off they haven’t seen each other nor known of each other in years, so it makes sense. Since they were 18/19.The deal with Thomas’ parents doesn’t get resolved. A lot of questions still unanswered about them… looking back, I think that sub-plot was added just because, and it doesn’t do anything for the story. I think it was just another detail to add to Thomas’ background story. The build-up was underwhelming. It wasn’t anything huge as I had hoped/waited to read. Very anticlimactic. The plot is unstable with the pacing of the story—in the beginning it did very well, and the change in point of views was well done, but then it would just drop here and there I think starting from half-way and past. The story could’ve been executed much better if the pacing was much better. All in all, this one had a lot of potential. It’s not the best, but also not the absolute worst.

Good book.
No spoilers here. The story is well written, the main characters are under development, the story is good at describing Sheriff Grey’s issues. This story is probably not for those with PTSD. It is discussed here and there are examples of people with PTSD throughout the story.

amazing thriller
Amazing thriller but a rather abrupt ending in respects that it was very quick and finale that it leaves you wondering what comes next

A good first in the series
I enjoyed the book and will read the next instalment. The main character and neighbours are likeable but I’m not sure about the love of his life - no real character or depth - they really don’t go together - maybe that will change.Definitely want to see what happens next with the characters as the first story laid out what could be a good series.
