Update: 05/20/17: So after retrying this it's easier than it looks and you have to try more than once. The pictures for info are almost useless it took me multiple tries but I finally got them to work. It drove my crazy. I have he old school ones without tape and these and after install on first attempt my 14 month old could not get them open so that's good will update again if she does.-----Apparently, it is actually hard to use. Both I and my husband took a look at this and tried to install but the product is made for cabinets with a longer lip on the inside of the cabinet. My house was made in 2006 and doesn't have a lip or so thin that this product is obsolete for it. So we went to an old one that was even hard we had to use both a battery powered screwdriver and hrs to put one in I hate child proofing these are also pretty big in comparison to the photo on the site.

We are moving to be closer to my young nephews and need to be able to keep them safe. I saw these at a friends house and they beat the heck out of the old style push down latch that every kid figures out eventually. There is a lock you can flip to close the mechanism so you don't have to unlock the cabinets if the kids are not around. The 3M adhesive is very strong, but sadly these locks will not work on the current cabinet style we have, much like the other reviewers said in their video. The magnets are very strong and these will work very well on cabinets that don't have a small bar in the middle of each door.I received this item at a discounted rate in exchange for my honest, unbiased review.

Double face tape tends to pull off the cabinet and fall off. Magnets could be stronger to work better on drawers where the wood thickness doubles.

Would work fine but not on my cabinets. Not enough info on listing to determine which cabinets would work, can't really return since open but really want my money back.

Don't like that they are not secure

I have a very curious two year old so I get very anxious about her getting into my "under the sink" cabinet which holds most of my household cleaners. My cabinets are nothing fancy- they are about an inch thick and flat on both the front and back. These locks worked perfectly and only took a few minutes to put in place. The self-adhesive backs made installation simple and convenient. My husband just lined everything up and voila… done! When locked, the cabinets are sturdy and do not budge which is surprising considering the use of an adhesive as opposed to actual hardware.Since I was only really worried about a couple of cabinets at my house, I had a few locks remaining so I brought them to my mother’s house so that she could childproof her “under the sink” cabinet as well. The product comes with two keys so it worked out perfectly. I will admit that using the key can be a bit of a pain and it takes a little while to get used to; however, that's a small price to pay for keeping the little ones safe. We now have two toddlers who like to get into everywhere, and with an open plan style house I like to make sure that all of our cabinets are child proofed. As we rent we can't go drilling holes into our cabinets so these type of stick on locks are great!It's important to know that these locks do not fit on all cabinet types (if there is a bar between the doors you won't be able to install them), so before buying you should check that you can use them. We can use them on our bathroom but not on our kitchen ones, which is fine because that is where I needed them.Pros:- super easy to install- invisble as they are installed behind the door- can be left unlocked if kids aren't around- comes with a strip to keep the keys safe in one placeCons:- Instructions on the back of the packet have been really badly translated (I'm a stickler for this as I work in the industry), and don't make much sense. It's easier to YouTube the instructions if you aren't 100% sure how to install the locks- Don't work on all cabinets (and this includes many basic US cabinets)All in all the set (8 magnetic locks, 2 keys, magnetic strip) are of great quality and work really well. I love how easy they are to install. These child safety locks are very unique, your child would not be able to figure out how to open them unless they could reach the key. You can either screw the safety locks into what ever you want locked or you can stick them on with the adhesive they provide, it is already stuck to each side of the lock. These are super easy to install although I had to figure out how they worked before I could actually install it. I yanked on my drawer a little to see how much it would stand and they seem to be pretty strong and they did not pop off (I installed with the adhesive pads provided). There is also a little magnetic disk that you stick to your wall out of reach that the key will stick to so you do not lose it. The key holder also attaches with an adhesive pad that is already stuck to it. A great place to use these would be in the bathroom and in the kitchen.
