Great for moving cats to Hawaii
I purchased 4 of these carriers to move my 4 cats to Hawaii. We crate trained every night for about 3 months before the move starting with 5 minute intervals working up to 2 hours. The crate is very sturdy, one of our cats was 20 pounds and the other was 18 at the time of travel and the crate did not have issues with their weight or length. The only issue we really had was that one of cats would shove his head between the zippers and force them apart, this was fixed with a small clip to hold the zippers together. The crates ability to fit on top of a suitcase worked very well for us rolling through the airport. We flew Alaskan airlines to Hawaii and the crates fit well under the seat without having to roll up the sides, we slid them under so the mesh was towards us so we could monitor the cats better. For any possible accidents during the flight we used the fur dry liner, it helped to keep the crate clean and dry and made for quick easy changes. Overall wonderful product, we love them, our cats love them. It made a very stressful move so much easier, and had a place to store their food for when we landed while they stayed overnight in animal quarantine.

This is the best I found in the market
I love this bag, which I came about after trying 3 other bags! I bought this for my 15-mo maltipoo, who is about 8-9 lbs. It's quite a bit of space for him. His lil' brother, who is about 6 .5 lbs can fit snug together and still be comfy. Material is superb, construction is excellent. Dimensions perfect and meet most airline requirements. The only issue is the mesh material is double layered so it's very hard to see what's inside from the outside. In any case, both of my dogs love them and have been sleeping in it at night. If you have a smaller dog less than 8 lbs, I would recommend the smaller cousin Sleepypod Atom, which is also airline approved...it's more compact and much easier to carry and multipurpose (i.e., can be for daily usage as opposed to just for airline). Given the quality and the design, definitely worth the price.

If only it had wheels
My Havanese fits ok in this carrier, and it’s sturdy and well-made. But it’s heavier than most others this size, and with her inside it’s not easy to get through airports with it. If you have a dog you’re bringing onboard, that’s your carry-on bag, so once you check your luggage you cannot rely on hitching the carrier to a small carry-on suitcase on wheels and wheeling it that way. I’ve seen other carriers with detachable wheels, so the wheels can go in the overhead bin and you don’t have to carry the dog through the airport. I wish the Sleepypod had this option. One warning: if you open the front or top zipper just enough to put your hand in to pet your dog, which I felt was import for the sake of reassurance, the dog is able to use her head to pry the zipper farther open.

Love the Safety testing, but...
I bought this carrier, because it passed the crash test. I was disappointed that it was extremely difficult to get my cat inside. You have to unzip the whole side to get the cat in. Then, she can get out before you zip up again. Sadly, this isn't working for us.

Airflow sucks
Love the pods but airflow sucks. Trying to find a cooling pad to put inside to keep my dog cool versus overheating!

NOT GREAT - AIRFLOW IS NOT GOOD/DOG CAN'T SEE MUCH ONCE INSIDE
Folds down nicely, bedding is easy to remove and wash, can be secured with a seat belt in a car easily- however, the airflow is not great and the way it zips apart does not allow for your dog to see anything once inside - there is not a hybrid state that is safe. The way it buckles into a car - your dog also will not be able to see much but the car door. our 8 lb dog also started panting

Really great carrier!
I really like the color and design of this carrier. You can tell it was made with really great material and is very sturdy. I think this is a great carrier for small dogs and cats. I do love how safe my dog is in the car and I feel so much better about taking her in the car. My only issue is that my dog is a little bit too big for it, but once she gets comfy she likes it. But that has nothing to do with the carrier itself. Overall really good!

Best in class for quality and comfort
Sturdy, wipes clean, thick material- very well made. This is the best quality carrier I have seen. Only drawback was I needed it for car travel and it did not have strap for attaching to headrest or seatbelt slots

Worth every penny
Sleepypod Air is a great carrier. It is crash tested for safety and such high quality. Bentley is a 6 pound Maltese and has tons of room and loves his carrier. Fits great under the seat for air travel and is light and easy to carry. Would highly recommend. It’s pricey but worth it.
