I used Origins chapsticks for years and they were the only thing that actually did more than just coat my chapped lips. Origins stopped making them and I switched to Fresh Sugar lip balms, which are effective but not thick enough for wintertime. I stumbled upon this product at Sephora and decided to try it. I use Smashed alone or over lip stain as well as Bite's clear lip mask at night.Consistency: It is thick when room temperature but spreads easily when warm--it is tough to spread on your lips if it is not warm (I keep it in my pocket during the day). A liberal application stays on well overnight and protects my lips until morning even with a fan blowing on me. It's great for protecting my lips when walking outside, but once I forgot to apply it and realized my mistake in the cold (about -10 with the windchill) and even though it was in my pocket, it did harden on my lips and it was nearly impossible to spread.Color and application: My lips are almost without color and I am very fair (I usually wear colors that have wine/berry color to them) and the Smashed color essentially looks like I actually have a tiny flush to my lips. There is no slant to the opening, so application can be inaccurate, especially if it's cold. I keep it in my pocket during the day and it goes on nicely but does push past the edges of my lips if I'm not careful.Taste: I'm fairly picky about how lip coverings taste--even if they are by a brand I like. For example, I cannot wear lip treatment by Laura Mercier because there is some smell underneath the vanilla that bugs me. Bite's lip mask has an incredibly subtle sweet smell and does not have any other undertones that stand out to me.I recently traveled without my lip mask and developed dry, thick skin at the edges of my lips. A few hours wearing this eliminated the chapped edges, and I vowed to always save space in my TSA plastic bag for this little gem.The price point should not dissuade you because it lasts; my Fresh Sugar lip balms ran out much more quickly than this because I needed to apply them so frequently. A little bit is all you need to add a touch of color and protection to your lips!

I've used this lip balm for several years and it's my go-to lip color for most occasions. It's the most beautiful sheer cherry red. Stays on as well as other balms... not as well as lipstick, not as bad as gloss. To extend the time my lips are colored, I sometimes put a small dab (for shine) over a more-lasting lipstick.People sometimes note that the balm is messy to apply b/c you have to do it with your finger. Some suggest that it should include a brush. But the consistency is too thick to use a brush ... unless you live somewhere hot maybe. And applying it with your finger from the tube is no messier than applying it from a little round pot would be. And it's too soft to be applied from a lip-stick type tube. So, yes, you get some product on your finger that you have to get off with a tissue or whatever, but I don't consider it a negative compared to similar products. If the balm was thin enough to apply with a brush, it wouldn't stay on your lips for more than a few minutes. But if ease of application is more important than other product attributes, then maybe you want to keep looking.I normally buy this from Sephora b/c most of the beauty-products on Amazon seem to always include several reviews that indicate the product may be a knock-off. But Sephora was out the last time I wanted to order, so I got it from Amazon and it appears to be the real deal. Can't say whether that was luck, or whether the people indicating it's a knock-off have been incorrect.

My sister in law had it and let me use some on a bitter cold day and it kept my lip moisturized.Months later my lips got so chapped from the winter. I tried everything nothing worked. So I remembered this one and bought it. Really expensive to me idk.But lasts long u only need like a tiny dot and it moisturize ur lips for a long time. I like the color too its very sheer but my lips are dark and it gives a little color. Anyway the peeling and chapped lips are long gone.They are soft and since it lasts so long even though its expensive it is worth it to me since i don't need to buy anymore for a long time

I love the agave lip mask! It’s long lasting, very moisturizing, not sticky or super glossy, and the light tint is very natural. The Only reason I’m giving this product a four star is that it’s more expensive buying from Amazon than Sephora, but I couldn’t find this lip mask anywhere else. Bite Beauty discontinued this lip mask and changed their formula and can no longer purchase or order from Sephora or a local beauty store. Until then, I will use this sparingly.

This is magic. My lips are red, dry, flaky, and chapped all the time. This gloss has left them smooth & soft. It is a little thick & sticky. But stickiness keeps me from licking my lips and making them worse. The flavor is good. I ordered more to keep everywhere. I wear it day and night, adding a little lip pencil on top for more color. Try it.

I love this lip gloss. I lost my first tube and hesitated buying another because of the price, but eventually made the purchase because there’s nothing in my makeup drawer that comes close to this. It has a nice taste, lasts a long time, and the hint of color is so pretty. I don’t need to constantly reapply it like I do with other gloss or lipstick. A little goes a long way so the tube lasts a surprisingly long time too.

I really like this! The color is subtle but great, not too heavy but heavy enough to provide moisture. The only thing is it's really thick and so you have to use your finger to warm it up a bit and then rub it on your lips or it feels like its pulling at your lips. I notice a difference when I don't use it, moisture wise, on my lips. Overall, great color, great results, just hard to apply.

Yes, it’s a splurge. However, it’s the only product that has helped the look and feel of my lips. Very thick and concentrated, so a little goes a long way. Be prepared that if you wear this overnight, a bit of the product will likely smudge on your bedding—depending on your sleep style.
