The Original Sculpey oven-bake clay is soft and flexible. It works and feels like ceramic clay, but it stays soft until it is baked. This sculpturing compound can be carved, drilled, sanded, and painted with water-based acrylic paints. The Sculpey Clay is excellent for school and art projects. It’s not the best but it is a great value.
It’s great for adults and children alike. It does have a tendency to break on thinner items such as leaves and such also a bit bendy and can crack if you don’t support with wire and pieces as thin as a pencil. But I have successfully used in making decorations on cans and glass jars. Dip pen handles and wands. Even rune stones and incense burners. You just have to figure out it’s quirks and find solutions. I have successfully painted with India inks and though spray paint has worked I find clear gloss latex paint works awesome. However even though the paint dries fast it is best after 48 hours. Sharpie also works great too.

Great clay for kids!
My daughter is OBSESSED with clay right now. She can use a pound a day. This is easy for her to use, it is soft enough but not spongy or too soft. Easy to use, no smell, and the finished baked product are always sturdy. Will for sure order lots more!
