This book is soooooo cute!!! So much interaction and the pages are super thick and tough!Update: LOVE this book. I have now purchased it 3 times!!! Once for my daughter and two more times for gifts!!

I love the Matthew Van Fleet books. Alien Opposites and Tails are two of our favorites. That being said I was hoping for the same caliber and while it's a really great book it's not quite there.There are several places where kids can pull or push and make movement, some good textures and beautiful artwork.I love the counting part of this book and the story is very simple, which is great for younger kids. And there aren't enough books about mermaids in my opinion.However I thought the sticky part was weird (and some sort of disgusting mess just waiting to happen) and wondered why the part with the snails smelling isn't scratch and sniff.Overall this book is worth buying, especially if you have very hands on kiddos who love to touch and move!

Three little mermaids invite their undersea friends to a tea party. The attendees all bring or do something. Children push or pull tabs, feel sticky and furry surfaces, lift flaps, and count. A simple story with charming illustrations.

I love buying books that do something different. We have so many traditional board books and chapter books for hids on our home. This one has fun moving parts, textures, and even a slightly sticky page that goes along with the story. I bought this several years ago for my three year old. She is now 6 and still enjoys reading it and can now read it herself. Even if your child does not love mermaids, the quality of this book and the features are unique and worthwhile.

I believe this is the THIRD time weve purchased this book, first book went through the ringer with our first daughter. Second suffered at the hands of our second daughter. Hopefully the third will survive. Pretty book, lovely colors, I recommend it!

This book seems to cross over a number of genres for little kids--part couting book, part lift the flap/activity book, part sea creature book, part fantasy (mermaid), and part tea party play. My daughter really likes it. The illustrations are thoughtfully done.

My daughter absolutely loves this book. It’s so much more than a touch and feel book. The pages have more exciting ways to engage with pulling and pushing tabs to make the characters move, Sticky, raised glitter, scented and bumpy textures. She really enjoys this and I like how it keeps her more engaged.

As another reviewer said, my 4-year-old daughter also wanted this book after reading the fairies book by this author. She loves this one just as much. Beautiful artwork, cute story. My daughter loves the moving parts, the different textures, and the beautiful colors. Just beware if trying to buy the book at a lower price from another seller. I went for the highest-priced seller on the "new books" list, and the book obviously was NOT new, as it was missing a couple key moving parts. I did not have time to try for an exchange since it was close to Christmas. As a review of the product itself, I highly recommend the book.UPDATE: The seller contacted me. Though it was AFTER Christmas already, the seller did apologize for the mistake in sending a damaged book, and the seller sent me a new, undamaged book free of charge. It arrived within a few days. Not ideal, but I did appreciate the effort by the seller to amend his mistake.

An amazing children's book, wish it was around when I was young! It's really beautiful, a little pricey but well worth it, it does not only have truly beautiful pictures, it also helps little ones to learn to count. Made of thick board pages and pop ups throughout. Purchased it for a very active 3 year old who adores mermaids, would certainly buy again as a little girl's ideal gift.

very sweet story with nice drawing, counting + interactions

The illustrations in this book are wonderful! Colourful and glittery. The rhyming storyline is also great. My 2yr old daughter loves to pull the tabs and lift the flaps. My only complaint is that I wish it had pull tabs on every page. My daughter will literally try to skip over the pages without them. Lol

Loved it way beyond my expectations
