wanted a recorder that I could place under my desk to magnetically.... not the most ethical? but wanted something to keep conversations with my clients in case there were discrepancies later. found this after looking around for a while and figured i'd give it a try. The voice activated recording mode works really well, but some caveats. there is NO display on this thing, and all the more detailed settings are controlled with a text editor... that... well that makes it slightly confusing at first, but worth it, as you can set the bit rate, the file type, the volume and more, to really dial in the functionality of this thing. it was all pretty well explained in the text files (included on the device's internal memory) and I got it figured out relatively quickly. The included headphones are a nice touch, but useless for me, as I mostly just drag and drop the mp3's onto a folder and listen to them from the computer. overall, if you want a daily voice memo recorder, this ain't it... but if you want something that, like for me, has a really long battery life and can be set and forgotten about for an extended period of time, this thing works!

I bought two of these for two different lectures. One worked wonders. Whereas as soon as I'd finished charging the second one, it was hot to touch and the battery inside felt like it had expanded because it felt fat in the middle. Then when I played back my lecture after recording it, it had a static sound the whole way through!! Its a guessing game with these things.. maybe it works, maybe it doesn't.. let's send it anyway.

Excellent appearance love it

This voice recorder is very low profile. Without knowing better you may assume it’s just an external hard drive. There is only one button on this voice recorder. You simply switch the modes in order to record or to listen. Unfortunately there is not any interface on the recorder to give you indicators how how the recording is going. It isn’t until you sync it to your computer that you are able to see this. The quality of the recording is very good and picks up on noise readily. This is perfect for someone who is looking to record without it being obvious that they are doing so. The recorder is very light weight and small.
