Can you say 'sexual tension'?
This sequel sees a little more of the horsemen, lots more sexual tension, and some character development for Ruby, though maybe not in the direction one expects. Her alter ego is scary, and I sometimes struggled to know what was going on. I also cam't keep the horsemen apart, thugh that might be because I read too quickly and they all merged into one hot mess of sexy men who have the hots for Ruby (this isn't a bad thing, if you like sexual tension, this delivers!)

Fast Becoming A Favourite Author Because Of This Series
Wicked Games kicks off straight after the events in Lucifer’s Daughter, and just like the first book it is a damn good read.Carpenter certainly knows how to write, she also takes the time to have all her books impeccably edited so that I didn’t even notice one mistake. In one of the reviews for this book, someone wrote that not much happens; I don’t know what book they were reading because I feel that a lot happens in this book. Ruby starts to let go of the old human side of herself and embrace who she truly is. We still get to see a lot of Moira and Bandit which I absolutely love, and the relationships between Ruby and the Four Horsemen continue to build, even if there is a few side steps along the way.Much that happened in book one is brought to a close, with more coming to light about each character. There is about the same amount of steamy scenes as the first book and still a bit of a trigger warning. Not a cliffhanger ending per se but Wicked Games is definitely setting the stage for book three. The only disappointment in this series so far is that book three is not out yet. Just like book one, Wicked Games has gone straight into my favourites folder. On another note: I actually prefer the original covers for book one and two.

Awesome use of knockout gas!
So the second book in the series finds our girl still fighting her destiny, and the 4 horsemen. Events from her distant and recent past start to haunt her as they come back and she needs to fight to move past them. Moira falls into danger and needs to be rescued, but traps everywhere and assassination attempts stretch the guys thin. There were plenty of plot twists and new revelations that kept you poised for more ...
