stuff like this with microsoft makes me sick
PREFACE:I bought this adapter for my HyperX Cloud II gaming headset. I originally bought the Cloud IIs without doing my proper research, only to find out the full 7.1 surround sound setup with volume controls is not compatible with Xbox one (ONLY buy the cloud IIs for PC or PS4 if you want full 7.1). Because of that, there is the usb plug-in cord with volume and mute controls you cannot use (you can only use the direct aux cord plug-in that goes into the controller). The headset was so comfy and well made and didn't want to return it, even with the inability to get full 7.1 surround sound or have the volume controls, so I bought this adapter to solve my problems.ACTUAL REVIEW:It works amazing! It is exactly what I needed. The buttons are clear. You can adjust the slider between game volume and chat volume easily. You can adjust the volume easily. You can mute and un-mute easily, and there is even an indicator light to show when you're muted. The adapter seems very durable. I've seen comments about being an Chinese knockoff or that constant removal could ruin the prongs in the connection. I don't see this becoming an issue unless you drop your controller a bunch. It fits really snug. I've only been using it for a couple days, but I couldn't be more pleased. If this thing does crap out on me, or gives me issues, I'll be sure to circle back and update this review. Otherwise, I wouldn't hesitate buying this adapter.

Works perfect so far with my HyperX CLoud II Xbox One headset.

Improves sound quality greatly
Well, I got two of these for two headset of the Runmas gaming headsets for consoles and pics. With just the xbox controller the sound quality on the headset was poor. O could barely hear it. That's when I got one of these and wow was I amazed at how much the sound quality improved. I went from barely hearing the sound, I was playing day z and streaming. In Day Z the sounds are directional so u have to hear them or you are going to get killed. So I went from not hearing footsteps come up on me and getting hit in the head with a shovel to hearing them and either running of beating the people myself. Its helped amazingly. I dont know about stream quality for anyone watching as I dont have viewers but I liked the product. Hopefully itll stay working a long while. If it doesnt I will be upset.

Sucks to Need, but Works Fine
Overall, the adapter works as expected. Bought this for another Microsoft adjacent controller for which it did not fit. It fits the Xbone controller just fine. The Audio jack is incredibly tight which isn't necessarily a bad thing.I bought mine used so I can be a bit more understanding but the packaging was a little messed up.

Quality if sound is awful!
The bottom line is once you plug the adapter into your controller and then plug in your headphones, you will be wishing you spent the money on a new controller with a built in headphone jack instead. The static is awful enough to give you a headache, especially in games, where there is a sound rich environment. It is definitely NOT worth the $26 I paid for it.
