Perfect for serving rice, noodles, stir fries...and just about everything!
This is a great plate/semi-bowl/plate-with-raised-edges that is perfect for serving things such as rice, noodles, stir fries, and things that tend to edge off your plate if you push them around a bit!I'd already had one of these plates which I'd bought about 6 years ago from somewhere, and it has never cracked, chipped, dented, or anything. Having said that, I hand-wash it as I don't have a dishwasher, and I don't use it as a Frisbee or to transport rocks or anything like that. Neither have I taken it on camping trips so I can't comment on how it will hold up if its squashed in the bottom of a rucksack with a load of heavy things on top. However, it is sturdy without being heavy so will probably be fine even with heavier than normal usage.Anyway, I wanted to buy another one as my son is always using this for his Chinese takeaways and I wanted one of my own so we don't have to fight over it.I LOVE this plate/bowl thing as it is lightweight, won't break if I drop it, stops bits and pieces from dropping off the edges if I'm being a bit too excitable with my cutlery, and is the ideal size to fit a generous portion of rice and some thing else on the side, or spaghetti, and so on.

A camping classic
I bought this to replace a smaller and very shallow stainless steel plate for camping. I used it over the weekend in the Peak District. There's not really a lot to say - it's a very low-tech enamel plate/pasta bowl - but it's a good size for a big dollop of carbs back at the campsite after a 50k walk. I filled mine with toad in the hole one night and paella the other. I liked the high sides that stopped the food from falling off when eating with a spork. It's a bit heavy, so you would want to think about weight if you were carrying it on your back, but for a fixed camp it's ideal. I'm thinking of getting a few more for the rest of the family. It washed up very easily. Only time will tell how quickly it succumbs to the twin curses of enamel - chips and rust. Meanwhile, I really like it.

Great Value
We use these for picnics, in our camper van and for all sorts of other events really. These plates are so versatile and you can use in the oven too. Great for pasta, curries, stews etc etc...Apart from the risk of chipping or denting, they are indestructible... and anyway who really cares if they have that lovely well used look. We have all the bowls, plates and mugs to match and always get admiring comments when we turn up using them.Great value.

RICE OR PAINT
I guess these would work perfectly well for eating rice. I bought it as a paint pallet for acrylic washes and it cleans up brilliantly. Acrylic paint sticks to almost everything including plastic dishes and Perspex sheet - it does not stick to glazed china or enamelled steel it floats off if left in water overnight. I use ceramic plates for paint at home but at drawing classes I take the enamel as it is lighter and unlikely to break.

Nostalgic kitchenware
Love these plates, takes me back to early 90'S. They were as described, no chips or cracks in the enamel. So far I've used for 2 meals and I'm very happy with the product. I brought 4 and they are all identical in quality
