Passenger Seat: Creating a Photographic Project from Conception through Execution in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom

Julieanne Kost has written and excellent guide for exploring the creativity of Lightroom and Photoshop. This book is straightforward with clear, simple methods for maximizing both editing programs. I've used other resources for photo editing and find they are too technical in approach and presentation. This book is written in a way that anyone with any level of photo experience can be up to speed in LR and Photoshop quickly. While the tutorial is comprehensive, it is not difficult to follow. Also, the first part of the book gives a creative plan for developing your own personal long term photo project. Kost uses her personal project, Passenger Seat, for inspiration. The author has a website with video tips for Lightroom and Photoshop that is very worthwhile to visit.

I have been looking for a book that explains the process and way to put together a photographic project. The "Passenger Seat" is written in a way that has helped me understand how to get organized, so I can be clear on what my own book will be and how to stay on track.Chapter 7 Perseverance I have marked so, when I need inspiration or motivation, I reread it.I highly recommend this book if you are interested in getting started with your own photographic book.

WOW!! This is a fantastic book in two parts. The first is an art book, and the art is inspiring, wonderful, and amazing. Julieanne Kost has an incredible and impeccable eye for creating amazing art pieces. The second half of the book is a how-to, helping photographers with the creative process of personal projects. If you're an artist, especially a photographer, this is a must-buy. I can't say enough wonderful things about this book.

Very well written and easy to read. The pictures are beautiful. inspiring book for those who need a pep talk to get out and take pictures, and enjoy taking without worrying about what others might think.

Very interesting and informative for Lightroom because I'm a beginner. I don't really share the attraction she has for the subject but that was more than compensated for by the practical lessons.

The author takes you through the process of developing and completing a photography project by walking you through the development of her own. Her suggestions, along with her extensive guidance in using Lightroom and Photoshop are extremely helpful and encouraging.

I love this book. As always Mrs Kost has a very clear way to explainexplain things. Her teacher background for Adobe is really great.

Lots and lots and lots and..........lots and lots of padding. I love Julieanne Kost's videos on Adobe (hence 2 stars rather than 1 just because I like the work she does) but was terribly disappointed with this book.

Very well written with many examples of the technique along with excellent post-processing information.
