Barbie Big City, Big Dreams Singing Brooklyn Doll with Music, Light, Guitar & Accessories, Lift Hand to Activate

I scored this doll on sale at a bargain for less than $10 - what a steal! This Barbie doll features a dark skin tone, hazel eyes, freckles, baby hairs, and deep chestnut hair styled in tiny braids and half-up in a top bun. I had to trim three of her braids as they were too long. Her outfit includes a shimmering multicolored sleeveless dress with teal netting at the hemline, fastened at the back with soft velcro. She wears matching teal high-heeled shoes. The doll also comes with plastics accessories like a microphone, microphone stand, headpiece, necklace, and a guitar. The microphone can be detached from the stand and held in her hand. There is only one functioning microphone included (the one she holds in the box is just cardboard). The guitar is not a full one and is hollow in the back. She can play multiple songs - at least five that I counted, but they are quite similar so it was hard for me to keep track. The tunes are catchy and reminiscent of pop music. When her arm is raised and left up, a full song plays (I counted two distinct songs). If you raise her arm and then lower it right away, only the music plays (one music track per arm raise). Her bodice area lights up with the music, cycling through purple, blue, white and pink colors. This doll is sturdy and of superior quality, sure to bring joy to any child.

My grand role plays and love to sing she wanted a doll with long hair...l thought it would be a task rather a quick pick

I really like the feel of the hair. The outfit is a bit much, but it works okay because the doll has such a beautiful face. It is a very simple body articulation, so the doll is easy for little kids to stand in dollhouses. When her hand is lifted, the audio plays. That is the reason I picked up this doll. It's nice audio that makes her unlike other dolls.

Well-made and of great quality! My daughter mainly wanted this doll because of the guitar. A fantastic gift for children.

I didn't read the description clearly, so when this doll came and it sang songs and lit up- I thought that was awesome! For the inexpensive price, I wasn't expecting these fun features. My 4 yr old daughter goes around the house singing "See you at the finish line!!" (it's one of the songs she sings). In order to hear her voice and not just the instrumental, you have to raise the doll's arm up, like she's holding the mic to her mouth to sing.
